I just got my hands on the 2009 Fit spec's

___My calc's show they are about even and still a massive mistake :(

2009 Fit Base and Sport w/ MT: RPM@60 mph = 2,822 RPM
2009 Fit Base and Sport w/ AT: RPM@60 mph = 2,115 RPM

2008 Fit Base w/ MT: RPM@60 mph = 2,835 RPM
2008 Fit Base w/ AT: RPM@60 mph = 2,189 RPM
2008 Fit Sport w/ MT: RPM@60 mph = 2,811 RPM
2008 Fit Sport w/ AT: RPM@60 mph = 2,170 RPM

___I was using a TireRack diameter of the 08 OEM’s yielding 23.1” for both the Fit and Fit Sport.

It looks like the UKDM Fit gearbox should be a suitable direct swap into USDM cars. Look for the one from the 1.2L engine for a *pleasant* reduction in RPMs.

As an alternative, I believe you could simply remove and replace the 5th gear from your current trans with the 5th gear from the UKDM trans.

I am still looking for a source for the 5th gearset. Can't seem to find a UK Honda dealership with online parts ordering.

I hate to see this. I was hoping that Honda would be bumping up the MPG for the MT in 2009.

Agreed. I'm not happy with Honda, though by the time I'm through with my Fit, there will be more on the market to choose from. Perhaps the Fit hybrid Honda has promised in the future? Give us 100 mpg cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!
