You're not a real hypermiler until you've been tailgated and honked at by the city bus. :p

I was gaining speed in a Fas going downhill (I was doing ~65 when this picture was taken!) and was only slowly starting to open up a gap between my car and his.

Got stories of your own? Send us your pictures and stories and we'll feature them on Jerk of the Day!

Were there passengers sitting on your trunk?? Either that or the driver thought your bumper was the bus park... Tailgaters live unendingly...

I noticed the bus says 'Garage' as its destination. The bus drivers are always FAR more aggressive when they're headed home for the delay.

I'm not sure why... running into a car would certainly make them late getting home.

What was your lane choice?

Looks like a rearview mirror shot, so he's in the far right lane. Also see that the line to the right is white and not yellow. A turn-around shot from the left lane would have a yellow line instead.

Buses and hypermilers are actually on opposite ends when it comes to technique. Granted buses and hypermilers are always in the right lane...the bus is a hypermiler night mare. We need a new system :p

Hi all:

I'm always in the far right lane. :) Speeders have all the opportunity in the world to go around if they'd like.

With regards to tailgaters, if I get one I try to get a shot of the rear view mirror such as on August 6 (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14701).

I forgot to mention the Dodge Ram 4x4 pickup who passed on the right shoulder when he couldn't go around on the left due to traffic

I'm tempted to rename "Jerk of the Day" as "Where is the AAA when this happens?" or something to that effect.

Or "Card-Carrying AAA Member of the Day". :D
