I went this last Sat. and bought a Basslink for the Civic. It was $299.00 plus tax for a total of $325.00 OTD at Bestbuy.

Dosent hit like ,, say a single 10" sub on a sep. amp. But none the less still does a very good job. Its very musical and it is accurate. It will roll down to a soild 20Hz as spec'ed. The foot print is very small and its lite weight. Both positives for me.

Install was very easy. Tuning the sub was very simple. A intresting item is with the phase switch set to 180 out, if I open the trunk it starts humming like crazy. Set at 0 its silent. So if the car is going to be parked for a while. I can flip the switch and it will act as its own theft guard. The hum will wake the dead!

I will add Infintiy referance components to the front and referance coax to the rear deck at a later date.

I dont think the Basslink is worth the $300 retail price. Its built very well and I feel it meets the spec. At $300 this is on the high side.

I was looking at infinity reference, but it seems the mid bass on them seemed to be lacking. Check out some alpine components. Much better range. If I remember right they are more efficient as well (I think 90 or 92db/w).

The Infinity and Alpines in the same class of speaker are both 4 ohm, 92db at one metered watt. The 6.5" Alpines will go a bit lower but dont seem to have the kick quality from what Ive heard. Fact is you cant go wrong with either vendor IMO.

The Basslink has been breaking in. Its really pretty good sounding and feeling unit.

I have it installed in my 2004 Prius since 8 months already and I'm very satisfied with its performance, of course the OEM door speakers whent flying and replaced with Alpine (front) and Infinity's (rear) coax speakers. I control it's output through and external volume control ( mounted near the front cup holder) and I think it's a must have
My car sound equipment was displayed in the 2006HF :) and I received a lot of compliments (with all modesty) for the great sound quality that my Pri provided.
Unfortunally 1 day event was not enogh to share, participate and browse, next year may be more fulfilling for everyone.

Nice. I'm a big fan of Infinity's stuff. I have a pair of 10" 1030W's that sound inredible. One I have in the Cavalier in a sealed box, the other I built a custom 2cuft box with a 3"x17" port (extended bass shelf system) and the way it hits the lows, several people have mistaken it for a 12" or 15". It hits solidly into the 20-35hz range with barely any cone movement. I've owned it for over 3 years now and it still surprises me.
