View Full Version : Completed - ScanGauge-II w/ X-Gauge Group Buy #23
Hi All:
___Another Group Buy was started this morning but we can run this one a little different. Now that Linear Logic has cleared their back orders, I will be able to ship them as soon as an order comes in. I have 13 ScanGauges still in shipment myself but when they arrive by hopefully Monday, I can move them out as fast as they come in. Immediate delivery :) The same $149.95 shipped of course.
___I can also supply ScanGauges with the basic programming, basic X-Gauge programming and a CleanMPG decal for $159.95 shipped.

kieranmullen 08-10-2008, 07:24 PM I see you are a long time member, but I still need to ask What is the advantage of buying it through here compared to say amazon? $10 ? Do the profits go to the forum or are you a reseller? If it goes to the forum do we become a member then and are ads then removed from the forum if in the event I am logged in not using the Firefox adblocking extension? Thank you!
Hi Kieranmullen:
___I am not just a long time member here but also own CleanMPG.com.
___WRT saving $10.00 here, why would you want to spend $10 more somewhere else? Who at Amazon have you contacted with your question by forum post, E-Mail or by phone on a late Sunday evening let alone if there is a problem? Did someone at Amazon offer to pre-program your ScanGauge?
___I stand behind ScanGauges because they are the only thing that work to reduce fuel consumption with a change in driving habits due to the displayed feedback. This is the cornerstone of CleanMPG. If you have read about SHM or above 99.9 mpg driving in a Prius-II, SAHM in an HCH-II or even a possible most fuel efficient acceleration rate in a Yaris w/ AT (that was only two days ago), you will learn what has been offered here vs. anyone at Amazon. I think you might ask yourself why Amazon charges $10 more by doing nothing but taking your money :(
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Kieranmullen:
You may have noticed that you don't have to pay a cent to view anything on this site. Xcel is the one who pays for the bandwidth, and obviously invests countless hours on content and maintenance of the site. (Along with others.)
If one reads the posts by Xcel, one can clearly see he is not a retailer. His goals are to educate, and this is simply a tool for education. Amazon most certainly doesn't run a site to educate people on achieving maximum mileage.
Hi All:
___Everyone in this Group Buy has had their orders shipped so check your inboxes for tracking numbers. For those that requested pre-programming, your all set :)
___I am still shipping the Group Buys orders as they come in but am going to be in NY City for the next two days. I will process any new Group Buy orders when I get back late Friday evening.

Harod 08-14-2008, 11:51 AM Hi Excel, First of all great site. I just got my 2008 prius about 2 weeks ago and am loving it. Your site has been very helpful in maximizing FE. I ordered a block heater and would like to do some grill blocking but will wait until I order a scangauge. I have 2 questions before I order. 1 - what exactly do you mean by preprogrammed. As I understand it you just plug the scangauge in and set it up to your sepcific vehicle and you're good to go. 2 - It sounds like there are 2 temp readouts that I will want to monitor while blocking - the coolant (ICE) and the temp of the cooling system around the inverter. Is this correct? The scangauge reads both parameters? Thanks again.
Rod
PreciousPups4U 08-17-2008, 11:08 AM Please add me to the current group buy.
Purchased a scangauge for me a couple of months ago for the Yaris. Well, recently purchased another Yaris so my husband says we need another scangauge. He just wants the toy.
Sent you a PM.
Let me know.
Cindy
krahnos 08-17-2008, 01:22 PM Please add me to your group buy as well, I've been wanting one of these for a while.
I am sending you a PM.
Hi Rod:
___ScanGauge has a number of parameters you can display right out of the box. However, there are many more that you can program into the ScanGauge’s X-Gauge’s for display that are not included. For the Prius in particular, you can watch SoC, Battery V and Current, aMPG and a number of tank FE and fuel consumption parameters that are not already programmed. Unfortunately, I do not know of a Inverter temp X-Gauge but coolant temp is one of the std.’s.
___Cindy and Krahnos, check your PM’s for reply’s to your PM’s ;)

collabex 08-18-2008, 12:06 PM Wayne,
Thank you for setting up my SG for me, that was a nice service on your part. Which X-Gauges did you add and what do they mean?
Thanks again,
John (aka CollabEx)
Hi John:
___PM me and we can talk by phone :)
___The second section of Group Buy #23 has been shipped and as soon as I receive all the tracking numbers, I will E-mail them out!

Man, no offense, but spend at least two minutes reading the site.
Hi Jps000:
___I am not sure if Kieranmullen actually understood that we are $10.00 below what he could have purchased it at Amazon for :)
___Everyone in the second half of Group Buy #23, check your inboxes for your tracking numbers!
___Rick and Frederic, your ScanGauge’s and X-Gauges are all setup ;)

koreberg 08-21-2008, 07:33 PM When is the next group buy? I'm getting a new FSP and want to be ready to squeak out the miles as best I can.
Hi Koreberg:
___I am shipping them as soon as a request comes in. I have been adding the new orders to the same ever expanding list on page 1 is all. For example, #24 was Rodney H. who ordered his pre-programmed ScanGauge-II this morning and I shipped it this morning :)
___Good Luck
___Wayne
koreberg 08-22-2008, 03:49 PM What do I need to do to get on the list, also I am unsure if I need the preprogrammed or not.
Hi Koreberg:
___Just click on the Buy now button and its sent :)
___Pre-programming is up to you.

Harod 08-23-2008, 04:48 PM Hi All,
I ordered my scangauge from Wayne late morning on Thursday and it arrived this morning (Saturday). I don't get that kind of fast service with ebay..Amazon.. you name it. Also, I received my confrimation e-mail and tracking information within a couple hours of placing my order. That in addition to the fact that Wayne will preprogram the unit for you and you still get it for the same price as you'd pay anywhere elseand you support this site. Or you could save $10 and program it yourself. With my Prius there are several X-gauges that need to be programmed. I know the information is available on the internet but Wayne does this all the time and for $10 it's well worth the money. I just plugged mine in and set the gauges I wanted displayed and I'm set.
My only problem was that after I had the scangauge installed my wife took the Prius to work.
Thanks again Wayne
Rod
Hi Harod:
___Great to hear you received it so fast. Sorry to hear your Prius was taken so you could not go out and play ;)
___Koreberg, check your E-Mail for a tracking number for your order this afternoon.
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Douglas:
___Your ScanGauge-II w/ X-Gauge is in the mail. Check your E-Mail for a confirmation number.
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Randy:
___Same thing as Douglas above. Check your E-Mail for your confirmation and tracking number as I just dropped it off at the Post office a few minutes ago…
___Good Luck

Hi Dennis:
___Same as the above... Check your E-Mail for your tracking and confirmation number as your ScanGauge-II is on its way ;)

lamebums 08-24-2008, 02:51 PM Hi Wayne--
I may be in the market for a second Sg. Not a hundred percent yet since $146 isn't chump change but I am certainly getting tired of flipping back and forth between TPS, LOD, AFE, fWT, GPH and a whole bunch of other gauges :(
Hi Auston:
___Boy do I hear you about that!
___Good Luck
___Wayne
pcope 08-24-2008, 07:28 PM hi Wayne,
thanks for orchestrating the group buy--seems like a great idea.
A rookie question concerning the X-gauge pre-programming; are there pre-programmed settings for the HCH II? And if so, how should I specify them in my order? When I hit the 'buy now button, I'm not seeing a place to request pre-programming. Probably missing something obvious.
thanks Philip
Hi Philip:
___For non Prius’, non FEH’s and non Diesel’s, I add quite a few more FE averaging and Trip FE X-Gauges.
___The unfortunate part is my last in stock ScanGauge was sold just 10 minutes ago and my own 8 from this Group Buy will not be here until tomorrow or Tuesday :(
___For pre-programming, I have been asking those that want those functions setup to use the donation button on the lower right of the home page. Include or verify that your name and address per the PayPal statement is correct and include your vehicles engine size, fuel tank capacity and I can take care of the rest :)
___Good Luck
___Wayne
pcope 08-24-2008, 08:10 PM hi Wayne,
thanks for your note. I'm in no real hurry-- will you continue to take more orders as they come in?
And just to make sure that I understood correctly, I'd send you payment for the pre-programming as a separate PayPal transaction-- did I get that right?
thanks Philip
Hi Philip:
___Yup :) You can do the whole transaction through the donation button or just $10.00 + the Buy Now for $149.95. When I run out, I place new orders in a list and they can either be sent by Linear or I ship them depending on when I receive them. I hope that helps?
___Keith, your ScanGauge-II is in the USPS hands so check your E-Mail for the tracking number.
___Good Luck
___Wayne
pcope 08-25-2008, 02:54 PM ok will do- thanks!
Philip
Hi Philip:
___You are welcome and I have another 8 ready to ship as of 12:00 or so today :)
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Philip:
___I received your order, setup and pre-programmed your ScanGauge-II and delivered it to the USPS system. Check your E-Mail for the confirmation and tracking number.
___Something else that was kind of new about this one… Although I cannot control the upstream and downstream fuel consumption or emissions of package delivery, I can control the packages footprint from my home to the USPS and in this case, it was minimal ;)
http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/data/2/ScanGauge-II_Delivery_by_Bike.jpg
My bike and I -- 12 miles RT in 50 minutes during Rush Hour!
___I need to lose some weight anyway and this is a delivery method I think is not only worth it given CleanMPG’s goals but for me, myself and I too :)
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Ryan:
___Check your E-Mail for your www.USPS.com tracking number as your ScanGauge is in USPS’ hands as of about 20 minutes ago :)
___Good Luck
___Wayne
WolfSoul 08-27-2008, 02:17 AM Hi Wayne,
Great site! Just placed an order with PayPal, and I sent a $20 donation to cover the $10 pre-programming plus a little extra . . . what I would have paid buying from anyone else. You deserve the support! Thanks! I'll PM you as well.
Hi WolfSoul:
___I received it and I just finished up the programming :)
___Check your E-Mail for a confirmation.
___And thank you for the extra. I included a CleanMPG decal in the package and hopefully that makes it to you in perfect order as well :)
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Joseph and Roger:
___I received both your confirmation E-Mails this morning and your ScanGauges are shipped. Check your E-Mails for confirmation and tracking numbers :)
___Chan, I am going to try and add your last (2) to the first (4) previously ordered. If they cannot be added, I will ship my last two from my own stock first thing Monday morning.
___Good Luck
___Wayne
moran 09-02-2008, 10:10 AM Do you ship to Kenya and what will be the cost? will it work toyota funcargo imported from Japan?
Hi Moran:
___I am currently out but expect another shipment to arrive later this week. My last one is heading to the USPS in just a few minutes and I will ask about shipping to Kenya. I do not know if all Japanese vehicles are equipped with OBD-II or not unfortunately :(
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi John and Travis:
___If you have not checked your E-Mail, your ScanGauge’s are shipped with Travis’ going out just a few minutes ago… By bike again too ;)
___Kacey, I will get yours programmed as soon as a new stock arrives later this week.
___Moran, I checked with the USPS and without any tracking or insurance, I can have one sent for $8.10 so add an extra $4.10. I do not know what it will cost through UPS but I suspect about $25.00?
___There is a risk with the post office (not so much here in the US or Canada) but I do not know how reliable or safe the African or Kenyan Post Office system is? I also do not know if a package like this goes through customs and stays on a USPS controlled flight directly to Kenya or not either? Do you have any relatives in the states that I can send one too and they can deliver it to you the next time either you come to the States or they head to Kenya?
___I hope that helped???
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Hi Chan:
___I had Linear Logic place all 8 of your ScanGauges in a single package so you are good to go. When I receive a tracking number for that bundle, I will E-Mail them to you.
___Good Luck

noocky 09-02-2008, 01:30 PM Thanks again Wayne for the time and quick email response. Cheers.
hanky 09-03-2008, 03:15 PM Hello everyone! This is my first post on the site.
Wayne, thanks so much for offering the group buy, without it I could never have bought the Scangauge II since my wife would not let me spend more than 150 on it :-)
Thanks again,
Hans
Hi Noocky and Hanky:
___Thank you ;)
___And please use them to smash the Fuel Economy rating of your current vehicle by a rather large margin without so much as a little feedback and a little change on your part :)
___Good Luck

Hi All:
___I am still waiting for 15 ScanGauge-II’s so I can move them to the latest orders. Some of you I have already updated with the DHL track of that shipment. For those I missed, you can follow them into IL with the following DHL track: 28829286356
___Once I receive that bundle, you will receive your USPS tracking numbers within a few hours.
___Doug B., I left you an E-Mail wrt your DHL shipped ScanGauge-II. It appears to be held up in Chattanooga, TN awaiting an address correction of some kind??? Check your E-Mail as I left my phone number within. Call me ASAP so we can get your ScanGauge-II heading your way again :)

Yahma 09-08-2008, 12:10 PM Hi Wayne,
I just placed an order today for a scangauge II, did you get it?
I do not need any pre-programming. Are you shipping the latest ROM version (I think its 3.15)?
Thank You,
Gene R.
Hi Gene:
___Are you eConcepts and Solutions? If so, check your E-Mail for a confirmation of your address. Also if you could, please add your name to your reply and you are good to go :)
___And yes, these ScanGauges include the latest firmware update which was 3.15 as of the last batch that went out.

hanky 09-09-2008, 02:55 PM Awesome! Yes I am Hans J. - I wanted to get it before I had to fill up the tank to calibrate the SGII with my gas tank size but had to put in gas today. Its all good though, I really appreciate your hard work with the group buy!
Hi All:

diamondlarry 09-09-2008, 06:40 PM I may actually need another SG2. I asked my wife if she would use one if I got it for her and she said yes.:woot: It'll probably be awhile though as the new car kind of wiped me out.:(
Showbizk 09-10-2008, 09:25 AM Wow! Wayne, I just found this thread and it's amazing! You are doing one heck of a job here. I asked for a ScanGauge for my birthday last month, and my wife got it somewhere else unfortunately, for 159.95, free shipping. I feel bad that she could have saved $10, but love her for getting me something she regards as a toy. LOL! I wonder if it's possible for you to send me the code (text form--at your convenience) to show avg. MPG over a brief time or distance; say, .05 miles, or every 10-15 seconds? I think that would be an extremely helpful metric to observe to see changes in FE with AC on, for example, or changes between 45 and 55 mph. I'd be happy to make a donation to get these codes. I'm driving a 2004 Subaru WRX turbo wagon; I believe it uses ISO codes. Oh, and BTW, if this info is already available elsewhere, just a pointer would be helpful! You know the saying..."Teach a man to fish..." :)
Thanks in advance!
Hi Showbizk:
___I sent you a PM ;)

Showbizk 09-10-2008, 02:11 PM Thanks, Wayne; I think I'll try it tonight!
Hi Bob:
___Trust me, you'll like it :D
___I hope the last 10 in this Group Buy have checked their E-Mails as your tracking numbers are sitting in your In-Box!
___Kacey, Justin and Brian, I shipped your decals in a separate package so please let me know if they arrived intact and on-time :)
___Erick, check your E-Mail for a confirmation, send it back and your ScanGauge-II is on its way.
___Finally, my last in-stock ScanGauge-II w/ X-Gauge disappeared less than an hour ago
___Starting all over again and the next 5 we have a Group Buy!

djsams 09-13-2008, 01:46 AM Hi, I'm new to the forum. Interested in being added to the list for a SGII. What is the process for doing so?
Thanks!
Dan
Hi Rigomex:
___Click on the Buy Now button to the left and fill in the details :) For pre-programming, add another $10.00 via the Donation link on the lower right of the home page and let me know your F-150’s fuel tank capacity and engine size. I will add the X-Gauges after the basic setup is complete.
___Dan, same idea. Just click on the Buy Now button to the left and you are almost set. When I receive payment receipts, I reply with a verification E-Mail and you reply back to verify. After that, watch your mail box for your present ;)
___Good Luck
