Has anyone had the display go haywire on their SGIIw/X ?

I purchased just 2 months ago and for the 2nd time now the display has gone nutty. When plugged in it rapidly flashes alternating options and menus. Pressing buttons does not help because it changes too fast to control what you're selecting. Unplugging and replugging does nothing to solve it. The first time it went back to normal after a couple days but now it's stuck like this again. Incidentally, I did manage to get into the setup and hit a reset and that did not help. It is as if a button is being held down but none of them are stuck and I've pressed them all a lot to try to alleviate the prob.

Already have an email into the company for support. Any other ideas?

Tx!

Does "Tx" perhaps mean Texas? If so, are you sure it hasn't been overheated?

The innards of the little black box can reach horribly high summer temperatures when setting on the dash in a closed car. Just thinking out loud.

Sorry, no, Tx was my shorthand for Thanks!

It's possible tho we haven't had temps over ~84 degrees lately where I live (Southern Minnesota) although I know the inside of the car warms up quite a bit. From what I read on other posts, too high of temps makes the display become unreadable. Mine appears to be perfectly readable in terms of the words on the screen. It is just that it is very rapidly changing what's on screen, like 3-4 times per second. Some more info that led me to think it's possibly a perceived stuck button: when I manage to get it on the gauge screen the right-middle gauge cycles through the choices without stopping but the others stay constant. The readings flash for an instant every 5 or 6 seconds on some (mpg per trip) but not other gauges. I could be wrong but I think the prob. would fix itself much faster if it were just heat.

That certainly sounds like a stuck button to me.

Hi and welcome from a neighbor, by the way!

Totally, totally bizarre. Now it's begun working again. So I still don't know if it's heat stroke or just an electronic bug. If I knew it was the latter, I would continue to pursue a warranty replacement. . .
