Hi all

I have a 2005 model Honda Civic sedan, 1.8 litre automatic, I don’t know what the model is in your country but pictures of my car are located here http://clayton4115.gallery.netspace.net.au

Anyways I am not getting good fuel economy because I am sure its due to the traffic I have to deal with when I do drive to work, which is like 2 to 3 days per week at distance of 13 miles one way.

I have a lot of traffic and even the ‘freeway’ is congested, like take a look at the photo below

So what tips do you have to improve my FE to say 35+ mpg I would be happy even if I could get 35+mpg in this city driving.

Hi Clayton:

___Welcome to CleanMPG!

___It appears you are driving a 205 Honda Civic exactly as they were spec’ed here for the same model year. 33 is not bad but like anything, there is a lot more available.

___Press up those tires, next oil change placed some 0W-20 in her and get a ScanGauge. After that, it is time to work the techniques. Beating the EPA - The Why’s and how to Hypermile. (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1510)

___Good Luck

thanks, i do have scangauge but i only use it to see my mpg consumption maybe i should pay more attention to the instantaneous readouts in which scangauge offers, i do have roads which are highly congested and quite hilly terrain as well.
