I suppose that since I've posted here a time or two, I should actually introduce myself. I'm Debbie, from Milwaukee. I've actually been lurking here for a couple of months. My husband & I bought our FEH a year ago last March, & I am *so* happy with it!

I've completely re-learned how to drive, & am no longer a "Type-A" driver, having discovered what driving at the speed-limit (or sometimes below it) does for FE. I have about a 10-mile commute at 30-, 40-, 50-, then back to 30-mph, which seems to be just about perfect for hypermiling attempts in the summer (& a little short for it in the winter :( ).

My husband is a professional handyman, & his van is the "Travelling Toolbox" - but he's 6'2" tall (I'm 5'3"), & didn't fit very well in my little Saturn SL1, so whenever we went anywhere together, we went in his van, along with all the tools  Not only noisy, but always a worry about the vulnerability of his investment in tools. Now when he's not working the "Toolbox" stays locked securely in the garage, & he rides with me :) He hasn't driven it since we bought it; at first he said he didn't want to mess up my seat adjustment, but since meeting some of you at the June Milwaukee Hybrid Group gathering before the Brewer game, he says it's because he doesn't want to mess up my mileage :D

Although we've owned our FEH a little over a year, I only just discovered the GreenHybrid & CleanMPG sites a couple of months ago. It's been great learning more about how to drive this vehicle - I wanna be a hypermiler! :)

Looking forward to meeting more of you at Hybridfest!

Hi Debbie:

___After your post in the Cooperstown thread, I remember who you are! Welcome to our home away from home. Having the highest reported FEH lmpg in the country is something very special in my book.

___About your husband … He is wise not destroy your FEH’s FE. As is Tarabell’s husband and Laurie’s and … ;)

___Good Luck

Mitten & Woolly-Willy say hello to Tiger :) They would be impressed that he weighs more than the two of them together - if they weren't cats ;)

Thanks, Wayne!

I took your advice, & raised my tire pressure to 44psi, & Don took the cross-bars off the roof rack, & my FE (according to the NAV unit) has not fallen below 40mpg in the last tank-&-a-half! :D

I'm not sure how to deal with that extra 8oz. or so of oil you said I had, since my next oil-change wouldn't normally be due until next February or March.

This is a great site! I've learned a lot since I started coming here :)

___40 mpg? That is some seriously great FE coming from an FEH as you know! Keep that kind of FE up and you will be inducted into the CleanMPG - female all-star hall of fame :D I am sure Cynthia (Insight 5-speed), Laurie (HCH-I), and Tarabell (HCH-II) will be honored knowing you are showing others the way to much higher FE from the FEH then they had ever dreamed possible.

___Do not worry about the extra 8 oz. or so of oil just yet. Remind me early next week via PM to bring a Vampire pump, extended length of poly tubing, and a pint sized sample container to HF so as to attempt to cure your FEH of that little oversight? I don’t know if I can guide the small diameter pristine poly down the dip stick hole of the FEH but it’s worth a shot?

___Good Luck and we will see you at HF next week!

___Wayne
