The ScanGauge manual advises covering the ScanGauge with a piece of paper to protect it from the heat of the sun. This works OK unless there is a little wind blowing, in which case the paper blows away. I experimented with paper folded into a rectangular box, then finally a little breezier version. You need Acrobat Reader or some such software that allows you to view and print PDF files.

Directions are included.

Clever. Thanks for sharing.

I've sometimes stuck post-it notes on the top to shield it a bit. :p That works while driving, too.
I use a reflective windshield visor when I park. It keeps the whole car cooler.

I had one of those windshield visors once. Trouble was, if I rode around with the windows open, the thing wanted to fly out, else I had to stick it in the trunk.

I just use an old cloth diaper (the same one I use to defog the windows).:)
