gotta love this car. not only do i get to tick off hotheads in chevy trucks on a regular basis, i can get mileage like this....don't get me wrong, we have a chevy truck..4x4 even. i drove it last night......to haul the hay wagon out of the field. they have their place, but not on my bumper.......

anyhow, this summer has really shown me what can be accomplished with planning and patience......

Hi Laurie:

___Having had a small back and forth with a YaHoo forum - HCH-I driver (43.5 lmpg) who likes to tell other HCH-I drivers what they should be receiving make your results that much more pleasing. Insight like FE from an HCH-I is not where many tread and I love to hear the stories as to how it’s achieved if for nothing else then to work my own commute that much harder. I will never see a 65 mpg tank from the Accord but it gives me hope for our next gen of automobiles in doing so on a daily basis!

___Good Luck and congrats on the tank. You still have a few good months before winter rolls around again so enjoy it to its fullest ;)

Laurie probably would have gotten 85-90mpg if that was an Insight. As far as rude drivers go, yesterday a "birdie" driver started to behave a lot better after I got a couple of pictures of him in his Accord (a later story - back to Laurie).

Coasting does help, but sometimes it's hard because your in an urban setting. :(

Hi Chuck:

___Urban setting FAS … I get the biggest kick when I am passing a whole row of drivers on the Chicago Interstates while in a FAS. I look over and see all those cars and trucks running 2,000 + RPM all the while I am doing nothing but disturbing the air around me …

___Good Luck

I'm sure you will have several pointers for me July 21 as I drive towards HybridFest. :)

I won't wait for the picture, but going home yesterday, some boys in their ricer Civic passed me by with the loud fart pipes. The licence plate number was a hoot:

666 LNL

actually, chuck, i live in the country on a farm (that's my favorite rooster in my avatar). if i take the right roads home, i barely see a dozen cars, and there are some very nice rolling hill where i have no problem coasting up and down until i am doing less than 40mph. if i have to i can take the 4 lane almost from door to door, but it is so crazy on there in the summer, i avoid it even though it takes me a little longer to get home.

by the way, i hope you guys don't mind the double post. i went back to GH for a while since some of the newbies need to know what can really be accomplished.

They should come here, where there are no members sympathizing with the drivers that try to run you off.
