I just bought a 2008 Nissan Altima Hybrid and love it. I've averaged about 38 mpg real world. I've had to learn how to drive a hybrid, P&G, stealth gliding, etc. But I'm overly impressed! I can still do 0-60 in less than 7 seconds when I need to, it looks and feels like a sports car (it's really the regular Altima with the sports package on it and an electric engine with 200 hp and 200 ft.lbs of torque) and it is very comfortable. I've just started running my tires at 44 psi (instead of 32 after doing MUCH research, I still haven't run across ANY failures and MANY people have reported excellent results). In fact the burst tests were done with water and bursts happened at over 300 psi to 500 psi, more often than not rim failure was more often to blame. Overall the car has nothing to complain about and everything to rave about. Though I'm not getting 60 mpg like many of you, I still get 40+ and can fit my 4 year old, my 8 year old, my wife and mother-in-law in comfortably in for a 2 hour drive.
Much better than a mini-van (16 mpg) and my old F-250 (7mpg)! heh!

What color did you get? Mine is green. What part of the country are you in? Yeah, those stock tires can handle 44 psi fine, and I think the car handles better up there than at lower psi. I know for a fact that they can also handle 52psi fine also, if you're wondering. I'm considering testing higher pressures soon. I love the car too, but I've recently decided that it has too much power. It's great to have the power there when you need it, but it's at the expense of mileage...

Congrats on the purchase.

Do either of you have the Tech package? If so I'd like to see some pix of the energy mgmt display thanks.

My wife is still leaning towards the NAH for her next vehicle purchase at the end of this month.

I have pics in the rides section and the gallery section. http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=6749

Also, no, I didn't get the tech package, I wanted to add the GPS, iPod, and Bluetooth myself and save $3,500. Sweet setup now... Garmin nuvi200w, Motorola Bluetooth handsfree, iPod Classic to Aux, and Valentine One radar detector. Works great for my long mileage hauls up and down the I-5 from Chico to Redding. My territory for commercial banking is from Yuba City to the Oregon border and over to the coast, so quite an area to cover with 39 branches to cover. Lots of driving!

Howdy,

Newbie to this forum and to my NAH with Tech Package (Emerald Green).
Love it! Getting 40.4 mpg so far.

Has anyone tried the ScanGauge unit to improve FE?

Thanks!

Congrats on the new car. I've had my 07 Altima Hybrid a year. I made the decision to get out of my 20 MPG Dodge Stratus R/T early and haven't had buyers remorse. Great car. This makes, what, 2 of us on this board with a NAH? Enjoy it. :woot:

apensity,
Where did you find room to mount your Valentine One? Mine is in the windshield, but I cannot put down the sunvisor. The bump spots in the middle of the windshield keep the suction cups from sticking and the overhead compartment sticks down way too low. Did you find a way to hardwire it in to the (switched) power outlet?
