HighAltitudeFE

I just turned in my two best tanks ever: 47.3mpg and 47.7mpg; both tanks were over 700mi. My previous best was 42.9mi.
The two techniques I tried were turning off the A/C and discovering that I could sometimes convince the car to run ICE-only at very high FE above about 40mph.
I think I stumbled onto something that I've seen described elsewhere as super-highway mode (SHM) on the Prius. From what I've read, it's characterized by a dramatic increase in FE when the engine goes to IGN 14. I don't have a ScanGauge, so I can't confirm the IGN setting or characterize this on the TCH, but I suspect this is what is happening.
The way I get into this mode is to accelerate to highway speed, then let up ever so slightly on the accelerator to maintain the same speed. If FE doesn't significantly increase, I let up a little bit more while maintaining speed. Eventually, I'll see a significant jump (~10mpg or more), which usually places the FCD needle above 50mpg, usually pegged on 60mpg.
Has anyone else looked into SHM on the Camry Hybrid?
Thanks,
Chris
