I replaced my aged 12v battery last year and opted for the Odyssey PC545 dry cell. The OEM style battery was installed by the previous owner and weighs 25lbs. The PC545 weighs in at only 12lbs.
I had to add 3 inches of support below the battery to raise it to the stock height and the reduced width allowed a nice place to carry some spare oil just in case. I've been running this battery for about a year now with no problems.
I've linked some pictures showing the difference.
