Last night I noticed the existence of "hybridtalk.com", which
seems to be run by someone named "Charles". Upon further
investigation, it appears to be almost a shadow of CMPG, right
down to the sub-forum classifications, except that there doesn't
really appear to be anyone hanging out on it yet. What's up
with that? Anyone know the owner's motivation for trying to
start up yet another forum site to potentially have to keep track
of? What would any worthwhile distinguishing points be?

He has the right to start a forum of his own.

The only possible concern is if anyone at that forum tried comming here to promote themselves. It would be up to the admins here if it would be allowed.

Hey! No fair they have more members than we do!

It looks a lot like greenhybrid to me.

Also, It is prettier than this site.

But hey, the people on this site are top notch, and I think the content here is some of the best.

If nothing else it will help us to stay focused on making cleanmpg better.

Edit: The site is owned by Charles Dildy and was registed july 6, 2004. I have no idea who Charles Dildy is. It sounds like it popped up around the same time as greenhybrid.

Nothing is more important than having members.

One thing that I think he did wrong was to create too many forums too soon. When we started I told wayne we should limit ourselves until we had content to at least have 15 messages in a forum. Well, as you can see almost all our forums exceed 15 posts.

Well, that does it I'll just have to jump over there now and see what the (Real-Deal) is all about.

Okey, just went over to the Forum. Very Nice indeed.
Man I wish you all had not brought this to my attention. :)
Now I'm going to have to take time to go read some of the Threads.
:)
Nice Colors on the Forum:

I'm not sure about the useful content Charles may have. I looked at the "Car Specific" forum descriptions. The Insight description needs edited a LITTLE!

Honda Insight Hybrid
Toyota's Insight is a 2-seater hatchback hybrid automobile manufactured by Honda. It is known to get very high MPG.

It seems to have more off-topic than on-topic material - not a good sign.

Chuck,

It appears to me to be Very Sells Oriented. :(

Everywhere I went there were just Tons Of Adds: :(

I'm over it:
