Right now, 10 PM EST, 20/20 has a gas myth show on. If anyone's interested.

Mostly it was just John Stossel flapping his lips. The first 10 minutes were dedicated to fuel saving devices that don't work (of which I missed about 5). There was a very brief tips section about what DOES work, with an expert from CR saying to set tire pressure to the placard, and they did mention the best change is the nut behind the wheel. Then Johnny boy did a segment on running on empty, as in how far can you run when the LFL turns on. The title and description on DirecTV made it sound like it would be a hypermile bash, but the only interesting FE part was in the beginning.

No mention of hypermiling.

Sorry, based on the short description in the guide data, it seemed bent that way. I can remove the post if ya'll like.

I stopped watching 20/20 years ago when they did their gas tank safety crash tests. In which they strapped some sort of explosive device to the car to cause a fire after the gas tank punctured.

Wackos....:Banane45:

Pickups with the gas tanks outside the frame rails. Demo was fake but the problem wasn't. Where is the gas tank on these trucks today? Ford Crown Vics which included a lot of police cars also "Pinto-ed" because of a single frame bolt. I quit watching when Hugh Downs left, to much Barbara and Barbara.
