Thought I'd let the group know the ordering process and later review of my ordered '09 FWD FEH Limited W/nav.
Got my first confirmation of my order 4/22/08, second confirmation sheet on 4/29/09 that had my name on it and today I got a VIN number. My order had a priority number of 14 which means 4 units the dealer was alloted had a higher priority to built before mine. I'm paying sticker price which is $33,725 and the only other options available was AWD and side steps which I didn't want. The color will be Black Pearl which I know will be HOT here in South Florida, but the Limited option comes with a lot of chrome and bright machined aluminum wheels. The tires are a new special 16" LRR Michelin Latitude Tour tire made just for the '09 Escapes. The Atkinson engine is an all new 2.5L iVCT I-4 engine with variable valve timing on the intake side (Intake Variable Cam Timing, iVCT), as well as a wide-band lambda sensor in place of a conventional oxygen sensor. This will add about 20 more HP (177) with no reduction in FE over the 2.3L I have now in my '05 FEH. Of course, I'm hoping to see much better mileage with the improved eCVT.
