View Full Version : Selling the Del Sol
krousdb 06-26-2006, 02:41 PM It has become a pain to have a 2 seater. Lately I have had to take the outback to haul the kids around. So I have decided to sell the Del Sol. Let me know if anyone is interested. I bought this to replace it with.

Whadda ya think?
Wayne, it is in your neck of the woods. Would you like to hypermile it to Pittsburgh?:D
philmcneal 06-26-2006, 02:47 PM hahaha how much mileage does your current car have now? hm are you going to let the person know that you got over 60 mpg with that car ;)
surprising though, although this car will beat the living crap out of the car you got now!

The Del Sol only has 48,000 miles on it. It is easy to get mid 50's and a bit more difficult to get into the 60's.
tbaleno 06-26-2006, 04:41 PM Should have gotten a metro. I'd like to see what you could do with that car.
Hi Dan:
___Incredible! I think you may have found one of the negatives to owning a 2-seater but I will also say you will miss her greatly after not to long! I regret not keeping the Insight for any number of reasons. Most importantly, $3.00 + gasoline but in the larger scheme of things, the Accord is one very beautiful and comfortable ride. I think you will find a bit more FE with the 92 Civic VX for your commute but more importantly, you will receive excellent highway FE that I know you have been seeking for some time now.
___You want me to drive your new/used little beauty to Pittsburgh? I am in as I have never had the opportunity to drive one of the classic FE masters of its day. Just let me know when to go pick it up :D
___Oh, and I want to hook up the SuperMid before I take her for a ride ;)
___Good Luck

tigerhonaker 06-26-2006, 05:57 PM Dan,
Congrats on the New Arrival.
I think the New Ride is Red ;)

Well there are two issues then. First, how will you get home? I could buy you a bus, train or plane ticket? The second one may be more problematic, installing the SuperMID. If you dont mind yanking out the ECU, locating the VSS and injector signal, snapping on the wire splicers and then doing the same to 12V and ground, then then you will have the SuperMID installed. That just leaves the calibration. I could probably get it close before sending it but no guarantees. I can't wait to see the FE spike during lean burn.:D
Oh and one more issue. I was gonna put my Del Sol plates on it to get it home. That is not quite legal. And we both know that you have a penchant for being stopped by the Police for not keeping up with traffic.

I very nearly did that for the first time myself in I35 in Denton, Texas on my 100mpg near-miss. Got 98.9mpg over 141 miles.

I think it's kind of cool looking too. I'd go pick it up too but only if you agree to take me back home in it so I can learn from the master himself.:D
Edit: What are the best years for Honda's? I'm not real familiar with that info.

___You did seem to cleverly talk your way out of that scenario while I was in the passenger seat now didn’t you ;)
___Here in IL., we can pick up temp tags to drive on while waiting for the new registration and tags to transfer. Let me know and I will see what I can do.

___I thought you knew? And the answer would be … Can I have the envelope please … ALL :D
___Good Luck

Chuck 06-27-2006, 10:05 AM Driving slow is not that uncommon in Texas, but some will not like this candid observation. In Latino populated-areas some drivers will be going in the 20-40mph range, sub-optimal for hypermiling. One of those areas near me is Fox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vicente_Fox) Ave. :D
Wonder if a patrolman might give me a break if I put a Mexico sticker on my rear bumper?
(throw Delta Flyer into Sensitivy Training...)
Hi Chuck:
___You have a 20 - 40 mph speed range road near you? Oh how you are going to love placing the Insight in 5th and hover just above idle at ~ 31 mph while south of 125 mpg on the iFCD! If you were driving a Prius II, TCH, or FEH through that section, you might belive you had died and gone to heaven :D
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Chuck 06-27-2006, 10:49 AM That's the frustration: when someone is going 20mph in a 35mph zone and school is out! 35mph would be a sweet spot for a lot of vehicles...
