A Hyundai Dealer ad in Sundays paper was amazing.
09 Sonata $10,988 MSRP $19,995
08 Tucson $12,388 MSRP $19,365
07 Azera GLS $15,888 MSRP $25,025 (New not used)
08 Santa Fe $16,488 MSRP $25,425
08 Veracruz $19,888 MSRP $27,820

The Nissan side same dealer

08 Versa $12,988 MSRP $15,305
08 Sentra 2.0 $13,988 MSRP $17,005
I think I must be reading this wrong
The dealer is giving
$7,000 minumum trade on a 3.5 Altima
$9000 on a Maxima
$8,000 on a Pathfinder or XTerra

I don't know if its really bad or just scramble sales to meet their summer month quotas. And of course, it depends on the type of car(s) being moved. Large trucks aren't getting a lot of love from the dealerships I've seen on my way to work.

Noticed a story that some dealers are offering 72-month, 0% financing.

Somebody should really tell the guy we were following this afternoon. The 'FOR SALE' sign said it was a 2000 GMC Sierra (standard cab, long bed) 184,000mi for $6500. Maybe that sign has been there a while? KBB puts it around $4000 and they are usually high.

ALS- The Nissan prices look like the usual ad -come on - prices. Now the Hyundai prices look like scams -especially the Sonata price - that isn't a real sale price, it might be some sort of lease price. Around here we have a dealer that regularly runs ads that seems to be sales prices, but they are actually lease prices.

Brick many folks who attempt to sell their own vehicle have no idea what it is really worth. One problem is KBB which is ALWAYS ABSURDLY high for everything but a high demand car like Prius. The other problem is that they just want too much.
No one ever seems to under price their vehicle; the prices are always waaaaay too high initially. They usually give up and trade it.

Check the June Sales figures out yesterday -

FSP sales are 50% less than they were last year and falling further - dealers are terrified that it might be better to lose a few grand now than ten grand later.

and car with less than 28 HWY MPG is experiencing slow sales - those below 20 MPG HWY are doomed to collect dust at the dealers
