Hello all,
Greetings to everyone from the hinterlands of Southern Idaho. I am one of the fortunate few who have the pleasure of commuting 98 miles round trip five days a week to make a living. I work as an operations analyst in a casino in N.E. Nevada.

I have become an advocate of hypermiling at my work, using the 41mpg I get on my 2004 Hyundai Sonata or the 37 mpg I am getting on my 1991 Dodge Spirit, to prod my compatriots into action.

I am looking forward to expanding my "education" when it comes to getting the best out of my vehicles. There are some amazing individuals on this board and I hope to learn from all of you.

Thanks for letting me come aboard.

Welcome !

Here are some tips

1) Try reading 'Beating the EPA.......' linked on the right hand side of this site

2) Pump tires up to max sidewall, do it 3 PSI at a time if you perceive max sidewall is too much given that we are all used to 'doorjamb' pressure which the a comfort PSI and a minimum.

3) Keep a Mileage Log - linked on left hand side of this site. Its all about percent over EPA.

4) if your car doesn't have a iFCD - get a scanguage

5) A good technique to try on your commute might be DWL.

Keep us posted with your progress !
