Alright so i'm up in the chicago area for some training. So I made the mistake of flying into Midway, when my hotel is in Schaumburg, cheaper airfare, I figured it wouldn't take that much longer to get to my hotel.

Little did I know, at 3pm on Sunday that I was going to be stuck on 20 miles of highway for 3 hours doing about 5mph. Probably one of the few times I was thankful to be driving an automatic, but it was still horrible. I tried to keep alot of space, and endured a few honking incidents, but this is just complete madness to me.

So i'm wondering if there are people who live in this area, that can maybe give me some hints about better ways to get back to Midway form Schaumburg, which I can only imagine will be worse at 5-6pm when i'm leaving class on Sunday.

Are you sure it wasn't just due to Fathers' Day traffic?

Let me think for a few minutes. I'm right next to Schaumburg, so I just have to figure out the best way.

@Right Lane Cruiser

I really have no idea, but people in my class are saying its normal for this area. Us out of town guys were a bit annoyed to say the least. All I got out of the discussion was 90=bad. At least I didn't run through the ipass lane with no ipass, like this other guy did.

OK-

Take I-290 or I-90 to I-294 South. Get off at S. 12/45/LaGrange Road. Get on N. Archer/171. Take 55th East to Midway.

If traffic's light, I-290 or I-90 to I-294 S to I-55 N to Cicero Exit.

Do Not go East of 294 until you're near the airport. You will regret it.
