So apparently we all slept through June and July, waking up just in time for August. Around here we're gunning for a string of record high temps as well as the record for the most consecutive days above 95F. What that means to me is that I've hit the wall. Doing without A/C was fine below about 90F and I didn't get any complaints from the hybrid system. (No battery fan or reduction in regen capacity.) 102F is over the line, and I've had no shame about letting that compressor sing. But that takes a pretty steep toll an FE...easily 15% in the afternoon, leaving me with little more than 55mpg despite my best efforts. And that's with climate control set to 80F. And so the tale goes, told twice a year as we pass through the extremes.
Welcome to summer!
