Hey all

I am a new member in Utah, I have a daily 70 mile roundtrip commute. We are currently using two different vehicles for our commute, we switch every week. The first vehicle is a 2007 Dodge Cailber and the second is a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Any suggestiosn that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Utah New Guy! Welcome!

Pump up your tires to at least the max sidewall rating.
Accelerate super easy. Your right foot can be your biggest problem or your biggest help.
Coast everywhere you can. Coast into red or late green lights from as far away as possible.

Read "Beating the EPA, The How's and Why to Hypermile" on the home page of this site.

Welcome UTAH! I go to SLC all the time!

Hello and welcome to the club.

You should start by knowing your car’s EPA rating located at FuelEconomy.gov (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm) and make sure to read the article “Beating the EPA” (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1510).

Make sure you air your tires up to the maximum pressure indicated on the tire’s sidewall.

Also, consider purchasing a ScanGaugeII (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=103426). It is an invaluable source of information and will quickly pay for itself in fuel savings.

However, please be careful as hypermiling is addictive. :)
