I own a 2007 Zenn EV, model 2.22. As many of you know, batteries, especially lead/acid batteries, provide poor range during cold winter months. Last January, for example, I was lucky to get 8 miles between charges.
So I took the advice of others and added 110 volt electric battery warmers to my battery packs, and insulated the battery boxes. In doing this project, I also documented it in a Microsoft Word document entitled "Extend Zenn Winter Range with Battery Warmers". This is a 26 page document that includes lots of sketches and photos. It explains in detail how I did the project while making the packs weatherproof.
Of course the specifics of what I did only apply to the Zenn, but the article should be of general interest to others - especially EV owners

You will see a short announcement there about my document, and if you click on FILES on the left side of your screen - you will be able to access the file, print it out, and/or download it. The file, including graphics, is 1.73 mb.
Once you access the file, wait a couple of minutes to give the graphics time to appear. There are lots of them, and they are in color. If you decide to print out the document, you might want to print it out to a color printer because some of the annotation I created will be more visible that way.
