Fuel tank was hit by lighting this morning 9:08am CST in the Jenks/Glennpool area of Oklahoma. Its burning and has already started to breach. There pumping it down. But as they do this it exposes more tank wall to the heat. Making a bad thing worse. This tank was nearly full. I drive by this tank farm daily. This is a very bad fire. Very bad.

Makes me wonder about how much pollution this type of fire belches into our atmosphere. Kind of negates about 10 years worth of hybrid driving.......Yeeeesh
125,000 gallons burning open loop.....carbon soot, plus all the other goodies, HC's, CO's, etc...reminds me of all those out of control oil rig fires in the Gulf war back in 1991. That must have had a lasting impact on the environment.

Wow, 6,000,000 gallons of gas-poof!
The two worst thunderstorms I was ever drove through weren't in south Louisiana(and we have very heavy rains) .They were in the TX panhandle on 287(June 1999), and along I-40 in Ok last summer.
My condolences- you Okies have some nasty weather!! Luck,Charlie
