Ok, so here's a small issue, I don't know if anyone else here has had this issue, but nonetheless. My emissions testing was supposed to be last month, but my car has still not passed inspection. (NY what a pain right?) Anyway, there's nothing illegal about my car save for the fact that my suspension in my belief is shot since my wheels rub when they're smaller than what I'm able to have on this car.

Anyway I go to take the inspection, passed the safety no problem, emissions, NOTHING is ready. ???? how could this be? The battery had not been disconnected, I didnt clear any codes, what could be wrong?

I left the shop, a week later (may 10th) I went back to the testing..again NOTHING ready!

The shop had asked me to remove my sg since they thought it may have been resetting my computer so this disproves what was originally thought was the fault of the Scangauge. So last night I put the scangauge back in and on my way back home from my fiance's house, I noticed when i put my car into an FAS mode, the scangauge goes berserk! It freezes and has no understandable language and the letters are replaced by weird looking symbols which have no meaning whatsoever.

My deduction is that whenever I turn my car off in neutral, the computer loses its "cpu" and doesnt know what the heck to make of a moving car with no power from the engine! similar to, "Hey, why is my odometer and my tachometer moving if I'm shut off???" Now, can anyone disprove this theory? or do i go w/o FAS'ing ().....till the cpu is ready and the inspection is passed?:(

The scangauge has a fuel type setting (or something like that) for gas, diesel, or hybrid. If you are fasing you should use hybrid mode. This should stop it from turning off right away.

I had it on hybrid mode, however when I went into the FAS, I think the ecu resets when the car turns off during a FAS, Im currently cutting that out, (and suffering as my idle is 0.5gph) until I get the inspection and see if that solves the issue...thanks for the response though, any other ideas?

When you fas you turn your ignition to off, then back to the on position, right?

Most engines will take a little while to reboot. During this time the scangauge should just sort of freeze. Once it is done rebooting it should resume reading. This is what both of my cars do.
