My wife was getting concerned that we would run out of gas, telling me if we ran out I'd be the one walking, but I did it, with 0.6 gallons to spare.

602 miles per the odo which reads slightly low; Adjusted mileage is just over 620 miles. Might actually have squeezed 650 miles out of the tank if I had pushed a bit more.

And just to make it that much better, the mileage (based on the adjusted mileage) is 37.45, a little better than any previous tank and a good bit better than most. I think the horible winter mileage forced me to really learn how to optimize my driving. Hopefully as temps continue to climb I'll see even better numbers.

New goal iss a 40mpg tank, and then, maybe a 700 mile tank. Wish me luck!

My wife says "dream on"....I think she's just jelous she can't get the good numbers :)

awesome!! congratulations on the tank! My next goal is 550 which should be pretty easy considering I had over 2.5 gallons to spare after my last 507 mile tank.

I'm sure you could hit that 40 mpg tank with some more work!

I think you will easily hit that 700 mile tank with the warmer weather coming up. Very good work!

Good Job! That's pretty darn good for a SUV.

Thanks everbody!

Your right, great mileage "for an SUV". We are hoping to replace our other vehicle (a 18mpg truck) with a PHEV car. It will then be the daily grind vehicle and the "low mileage" SUV can stay parked except when we need both vehicles or head off to a dog show.

Its great being here, reading all the information and advice, and chatting with you guys and gals.

Best of luck to everone during this summer. With the extra summer mileage and some additional converts, maybe we can push Wayne's fuel saving dream back the half million mark by the end of the year.
