Hello everyone,
I'm considering selling my Insight, and am offering it to my friends here on CleanMPG first, before I go any farther like listing it on eBay or the Autotrader.
This is the car that was recently in the news here in SC:
http://www.scnow.com/midatlantic/scp/news.apx.-content-articles-BTW-2008-04-30-0009.html
Details are: 2000 Insight, Silver, first registered in mid 2001. I've only owned the car about 6 months. I bought it from a lady up in Manassas VA, and brought is home to SC. The car has just shy of 108,000 miles on it, and a lifetime MPG of 69 MPG. It's been well cared for by previous owners. I have had all the required Honda recall stuff done to it (DC-DC converter, headlights, handbrake, etc..). The battery is holding up nicely, I believe it is the original one in there, and as we all know it is still under warrantee. The car is obviously a 5 speed, being a 2000 model. It does have A/C that blows very cold. Tires are almost new, 105,000 mile service is complete, and it's is running Mobil 1 0w-20. Ony modifications include: an aftermarket CD player, that sounds pretty good, and a programmable 150 character scrolling digital display on the tag. Otherwise it it totally stock, even down to the tires.
This car is very clean, and I would not hesitate to drive it any distance immediately. Watch the video on the link above. Being 8 years old though, it does have a few minor parking lot scratches (typical). Having recently seen similar cars with more miles then mine sell on eBay for $11000.00, this is about what I'm looking to get out of it. Obviously, if someone makes a reasonable cash offer I will most definately consider it. :) The reason I'm selling it, is because we are going to get my wife a new car, and I am going to inherit her Civic, which is much newer.
If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, drop me an email or PM me. Also, take a look at my mileage logs (Silver Surfer), recently I've been pulling consistent high 70's and some 80's with it.
Cheers,
Dave
