For the past few days I have been unable to access priuschat.com from my home network. I know priuschat has has some issues the past few days but and this is a big BUT, I can access the website fine from work or if I use a proxy from my home PC. When I try a trace route on the domain it looks like I get all the way to the host then it drops out. I will post the trace route results below. I can even login to my web hosts shell access and use lynx to get on priuschat. Using my web hosts shell access I can do a trace route from there and the server responds fine. Its almost like my IP or something has been banned from the server level and when I try to connect I just get rejected. Does anyone have any idea on whats going on? Is this some kind of DNS routing issue that I have to wait for it to fix its self?

My trace route from my home computer.

I just posted a joke on PC in the Jokes thread just a few minutes ago.

I had the same problem a couple weeks ago. All I did was delete all my cookies, temporary internet files, and the history. I reset my computer and it worked fine after that. Hope that works.

Traceroute has no dependencies on cookies and cache in a browser,
it's a totally separate application.
.
Jay, maybe the liquidweb infrastructure doesn't have a correct
route back to *you*. Can you tracert or ping anything else on the
same chunk of network [e.g. 72.52.166.1, priuschat's edge router]
from either starting point? How about 209.59.157.106, which
appears to be the internet-facing side of the same router?

Yes I can traceroute both of those IP.

Danny said the host was doing something with the DNS so this issue might resolve its self in a few days if the right DNS servers update. I'm currently using a proxy to view priuschat although its a little slow. :(

Looks like I can access priuschat now although its currently locked down because of the update.

Last I spoke w/ Danny he's completed the migration to the new server, is keeping the site down while he works on some site maintenance. But he thinks it will be back up this morning sometime if all goes well with that.

A quick question: If we have bookmarks, will the old ones still work or will they have to be deleted then updated?

hmmm, I don't know. I don't think there's any reason they'd be lost...AFAIK this is just moving all the old info to a new server, no major site changes.

Thanks Evan. I just tried my old bookmark and it took me to the site. It is still displaying the update message at the moment.

Here's a thread at Hybridchat where Danny posted an update. I assume he'll post more if there's any delay in getting the site back up. He also recommended flushing the dns cache?

Well since I got my new hard drives in today I decided to do a reinstall of XP. It was actually over due. On my first OS boot I seen priuschat back up but did not have time to browse. So I built my 1TB raid 5 and copied some backup files to it. Then created my mirror raid for my OS and did another reinstall. Now my opendns gives me server not responding. :( Oh well. On to restoring my software.

Looks like I cant proxy either. :(

Theories....

Cookie or Browser issue... - Try FireFox or Opera or IE (whichever one you DON'T normally use).

DNS issue.... - Steal someone else's DNS. DHCP spits back DNS servers to use, but many DNS servers are open and don't regulate who connects to them. I've PM'd you mine that you can use at will to help isolate DNS problems.

PC issue... - Can't help there.

PC seems to be down again...we were having some issues with posting when there was a hyperlink within the post...so Danny may be trying to fix that.

For what it's worth, it did appear that Priuschat.com came back up today, for a while I was able to access it while at work. The speed was blazing, then it seems to have come down again.

I tried flushing my DNS cache etc, all to no avail.

I can only assume that this was intentional....

As of 30 minutes ago, that wasn't fixed yet. (Posted about it on PC under the "May Update" thread)
