This weekend my best friend and I are going camping in southern Jersey. I've known him for about 25 years. He drives a beater and gets horrible gas MPG + it has no storage. I drive my Scionxb( TOASTER) and get over 40MPG + have lots of storage. So its a given I'm driving. Today we went to get our fishing permits. I was telling him its going to take an hour and a half to get to the camp site.

He chimes back- more like 3 hrs cause you drive like an old man. ( I almost punched him in the face for that)
I tell him _ if he would like to drive be my guest.
He says -my car gets horrible mpg in a snotty voice.
In response to his stupid comment I say -well then don't F***ing complain and shut up.

I cant believe how in grateful he can be. Its my car,my gas, my ezpass and hes still bitching and moaning.

Bear fans found a unique way to silence a boisterous Packer fan at Casey's Cabin Tavern in Fox Lake following Green Bay's victory on November 12th. Tired of the cheesehead's mouth, bar patrons duct-taped the offender to his barstool, but the Packer fan wriggled free.
Bear fans gave chase outside the premises, then taped him to a stop sign with a placard proclaiming his allegiance taped to his head. A police officer freed him, and the victim declined to press charges.

I can't believe that you got into a fight with your best friend over hypermiling. Best friends are precious and extremely rare. Good tanks are a dime a dozen for a guy as skillful as you.

Were ok! We bitch and moan at each other a lot. I guess thats what happens when your friends with someone for 25 years. I still think hes insensitive jerk sometimes but hes my best friend. With friends like this who need enemies - only kidding:D

And I thought you meant he just drives like a JOTD! Good luck with the fishing--looks like I might get out the canoe this weekend for the first time this spring, ice is out on the higher elevation lakes I like to fish for trout on. I do have an extended bass fishing trip planned in July already--looks like the roof rack might be going back on the Scion for that one as its 750 miles round trip (a 17.5' boat on a 13' car gets some looks!)

Just got back from camping. i may be losing a friend. What an inconsiderate, lazy, apathetic jerk. I caught three bass. If it wasn't for the fishing I would say it was a complete waste of time. I drove a total of 240 miles, over 4 hrs and not one:

I had a great time,
can i offer to pay for some gas or tolls,
or
I had a great time/that was a lot of fun. Instead I pull up help him unload his crap, he says nothing , I say by he waves and I come home.

Ouch! I did get the canoe on the lake today; the fishing was lousy but the friends were great. Mostly just enjoyed the sunny day. Sorry to hear of the less than ideal time spend in the car.
