Have we ever had 42 members online at the same time like a few minutes ago?

Also, last Thursday CleanMPG was in the top 50K of sites...at the start of this year it was in the top 200K.

    Hi Run500mph:

___I made it clickable which you can remove by pulling the url tags and link html code from your sig if you want? Leave the img tags however.

Hey, I was asking pilots at work if the Hypermiling techniques could be applied to planes. Some can like weight reduction, taxiing with only one engine on, etc. but they are kind of restricted in the sky because of air traffic control.

I wouldn't recommend that airlines pilots try FASing. Let's leave that one to the terrestrial hypermilers.

LOL, I'm sure they could, but it depends on how many engines they have, say they have 4 or more, then its a definite possibility, as the additional power provided is not necessary at cruising altitude, of course it depends also on other factors, really dont care to mention those, but that's a bit off topic. gotta go check and see how many users online :)

I was thinking more of a "plane" pulse and glide! 30,000'>20,000'>30,000' :Banane45:

One thing is for sure, in a "jet" type aircraft generally the higher you go the better range you get. So would an altitude gaining "pulse" followed by and altitude losing "glide" work? I don't know. Good question. I guess someone will have to try it.

    Hi Jud:

___I posted a story about this maybe 2 years ago but there is was a plan for a Hypersonic P&G with the launch hitting 150,K’ and gliding down to 50K and repeating. Something like that and the numbers showed it was not only feasible to maintain high speeds but save fuel as well? I will search around for the story in a few minutes.

The definition of "active" and how to count individual visitors
is unclear, especially in the case of guests, since each page
view is a separate connection that vanishes once the page has
loaded. Active-ness must necessarily be based on IP addresses
and some timeout after a given address stops asking for pages.
    .
So, what is the timeout? If I hit CleanMPG for just one item,
how long is my source still considered "active" thereafter?

    Hi Al:

___I see individual visit stats sorted by < 30 sec., 30 sec. < 2 min., 2 min. to < 5 min, 5 min. to < 15 min., 15 min. to < 30 min., 30 min. to < 1 hour and 1 hour +. I also see a unique visitors stat and that one is way up as well.

___The CleanMPG server is being asked for a lot more bandwidth on a daily basis this month by over 2:1 vs. last month and last month saw an increase of 1.5:1 over both January and February. A lot more than most of last year by a large margin too.

___I don’t think I need to pass out any more info but the amount of data that is being requested and served is pretty impressive given my limited knowledge of how the net works. This little server in the vast world of the net is doing its honest best to make sure you and everyone else sees what you want to see and it impresses the hell out of me seeing it in real time :)

___Something I have not yet announced but it is probably as good a time as any other … Sean Welch has taken over Admin duties as of last week and is just getting started on optimizing what Tom spent many hours building. I have to give Tom a huge hand here as he built one hell of a site on the back end all the while I was posting away filling the place with my own brand of drivel on the front end.
