I dunno Edwin, maybe a 1.2?
Took me a while to find out!
it’s a 5Dr Hatchback 1.2 55 E - seems pretty economical as I’ve only put 2.3 galls in and Guess Gauge is still higher than where it was when I picked up the car and I’ve done about 85 miles including some local running about at the weekend.
Thanks , Gord. Another car and engine they don't sell here.
Today in the Prius. 22 deg F in Elk Grove.
10.0 miles , fcd = 51.1 x .943 = 48.2 MPG.
The trip home this afternoon should yield mi-to-high 60's fcd.
Tank is approx 61 MPG fcd.
Today I am driving the Civic.
25 deg F in Naperville , 27 in Elk Grove.
A nice bit of tail wind (SW) helped me.
35.1 miles , fcd = 44.4 MPG.
Still in the Polo!
Put another 1.69 gallons in. Have done about 150 miles so far. I may hear about my car today......
In the Prius today. 29 deg F in Naperville , 32 in Elk Grove.
35.1 miles , fcd = 61.1 x .943 = 57.6 MPG.
Could be worse.
Driving the Prius from Glenview to Elk Grove.
35 deg F , wet roads.
10.0 miles , fcd = 56.5 x .943 = 53.3 MPG.
Today , in the Civic. 30 deg F , roads are covered with very slippery snow.
Yes , the traction-control works in this car. No , it , doesn't really make it any
easier to drive in 1st or 2nd gear. Yes, perhaps my tires are a bit old.
35.1 miles, fcd = 40.9 MPG.
The good news : the trip home in the Prius Friday night was 32.2 miles , fcd = 69.8 MPG.
The Prius sits at fcd = 61.7 x .943 = 58.2 MPG.
In the Civic today , coming from Glenview.
26 deg F in Elk Grove.
10.0 miles , fcd = 39.1 MPG.
In the Prius today. 18 deg F in Naperville.
35.1 miles , fcd = 59.0 x .943 = 55.6 MPG.
The odometer is at 114,564.
Finally got my car back last Friday after driving nearly 300 miles in the VW Polo.
All my records on the on-board computer had been reset at some point so I just topped up the tank and will start again.
I estimate the garage used 1.5 gallons so full tank was about 39mpg adjusted after their efforts from about 45 when I left it with them!
From topping up tank to home, very busy and uphill:
37.0 / 2.5
This weeks numbers so far - we've had heavy rain, snow, some strong winds and flooding - wonderful!:
Monday: 47.8 / 21.5 and 45.0 / 21.4
Tuesday: 47.6 / 19.6 and 43.3 / 21.5
Wednesday: 47.9 / 21.5 and 45.1 / 21.4
Thursday: 47.2 / 21.8 and 47.5 / 21.4
This morning, motorway route, 36°F, mostly headwind WSW17:
48.0 / 21.5
Tank at 45.7 (FCD 48.2) / 194.1 / Range 490 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG at 49.5 / DTE 475
Lost pip 1 (of 8) @ 156 miles
I've been so used to a digital gas gauge that it was a bit of a novelty to have a needle again in the Polo. I remember thinking about having needle-widths left until empty!
Today , and until Tuesday AM , I'm in the Civic.
8 deg F in Naperville this morning. That's -14 C for
our friends in civilized countries.
35.1 miles , fcd = 39.6 MPG.
Ouch. Spring is just around the corner , though. Only 3.5
months away. Stay warm.
Today , 28 deg F in Elk Grove.
10.0 miles , fcd = 42.1 MPG.
Expecting snow today , so
I hope to be home by 4:00 to avoid that.
Going home Friday lunchtime, 45°F:
48.7 / 21.4
Tank up 0.3 at 46.0 (FCD 48.5) / 215.5 / Range 470 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG steady at 49.5 / DTE 454
Drove father-in-law's Peugeot 2008 diesel over the weekend, 59 miles local running about in freezing temperatures (27 to 33°F) @ 50.6mpg according to the on-board computer.
In daughter's Fiat 500 this morning, giving it a run as she's been teaching from home, motorway route, 34°F:
About 50mpg / 21.5
About three inches of snow on the roads when I left this morning. Most of
the roads are poorly plowed at that hour , so mostly only one lane with someone
in front of me creeping along at 24 MPH. 16.3 miles , 34.2 MPG. Ouch.
The Honda's traction control is too sensitive. I was only able to get into 4th gear
at 32-35 MPH a few times. 5th , never.
At least I got 44 MPG on the way there yesterday.
Yeah , I should probably check my tire pressure and tread depth.
Back in my car this morning, frosty again, 30°F, mostly headwind WSW8:
Tank steady at 46.0 (FCD 48.5) / 237.1 / Range 445 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG steady at 49.5 / DTE 432
Today in the Prius. 20 deg F in Naperville.
35.1 miles , fcd = 55.1 x .943 = 52 MPG.
Low-fuel warning sounded at 524.4 miles. On track to
a "stellar" 56 MPG when I fill up this afternoon.
Not bad for this time of year Edwin
Last night, motorway route, not so good - used right foot more than normal , 37°F:
44.4 / 21.4
This morning, motorway route, best commute to work this year, 43°F:
49.8 / 21.6 (FCD was showing 52.5mpg)
