Today , 59 deg Fin Naperville , wind ENE 6.
54 deg in Elk Grove Village , wind NE3.
    35.1 miles , fcd = 64.4 x .943 = 60.7 MPG.
    Tank is at 500.1 miles, fcd = 69.2 x .943 = 65.2 MPG.
Did NOT take scenic route home last night , I was tired.
Still ended up with 71.5 MPG (fcd). Taking the scenic route
would probably yield about 78-80 fcd.

Tank is at 37.8 miles , also 64.8 MPG.
Filled up last night at a Mobil not far from home. Actually , I didn't fill up ,
because the pump kept shutting off. I won't go back there again.

    Today , 70 deg F in Naperville , 71 in Elk Grove.
Because I wanted to stop at an amazon locker , I took a different
route to work today. Partially , it's Scenic Route #2 in reverse , but part of
it was on tollway. I got off the tollway at North Ave , because it looked
    like I was going to get to work too early. I can get there anytime I like ;
    I'm the guy who opens up in the morning. 33.1 miles, fcd = 74.6 x .943 = 70.3 MPG.
    Tank is at 103.2 mies , fcd = 73.5 x .943 = 69.3 MPG.

Oh, oh!! I don’t think many Symphony # 2’s would sound good.... in reverse..... even partially. However, Bach played many melodies in reverse.... even up-side down..... all with harmony. I suppose the technique was even used before the time of Bach & readily the technique was used often after Bach.
Could you run Scenic Route #2 in reverse, while inverted? Think you might need an airplane to pull that one off. Guess you could modify a street vehicle so you could operate the vehicle while up-side down. But the police won’t like the procedure.... & you won’t either, after being up-side down for an hour.

Thanks , Bill. At 4:15-5:00 AM , there is a lot of freedom to drive the
way I want to drive. Also , no highway today.

Finally updated my numbers from going home from work before a 2 week vacation!

Haven't driven my car much - ridden my bike more miles (400+) than I've driven! Various:

    Various short trips that evening:
    28.5 / 3.6
    55.5 / 3.3
    43.3 / 2.3
    41.3 / 4.7

    5/22
    52.2 / 4.4
    39.3 / 4.3

    5/26
    50.0 / 8.8
    40.4 / 4.3

    Tank down 2.4 at 50.2 (FCD 52.9) / 138.5 / Range 620 . Guess gauge F««««|««««E . UG down 4.2 at 58.5 / DTE 531

That might be true of me too lately, by a small margin. Since February, the car barely goes anywhere except to bike rides. Today, for a typical example, I drove 33 miles round-trip to a friend's house in order to bike 36.4 miles with her.

Never took a bike in a motor vehicle to take a bIke ride. That’s defeating the “advantage” of a bike over a vehicle.

I take my bike in the car when I go to girlfriend's place for the weekend.
I know I will need the car , and I know I can go out for a few hours Sunday morning on the bike.

You can introduce me to your girlfriend & maybe I’ll have the need to take my bike in a car & travel somewhere. Oh, yeah. I don’t have a bike. Someone stole my electric bike. Anyhow, you don’t have to introduce me to your girlfriend.:p

I'm fascinated with electric bikes , but I will not have one.
It defeats the purpose. I already have two excellent mountain
bikes , but I usually only ride one at a time.

I’ve seen one person ride two bikes at a time. But the dexterity needed, eliminates lots of people. I wouldn’t even try. One bike alone, can put my back out.
