Friday lunchtime on my own, motorway route, 43°F, mostly cross/tailwind SW14:
    48.1 / 21.3

Saturday evening went 4UP to sister's 50th birthday party. Storm Ciara was building, 16mph head/crosswind with gusts to 30mph.
47.2 / 19.9 - got to bottom of multi-level car park early (had to wait until 18:00 as that's when pre-booked parking ticket was valid from!
40.4 / 25.0 - Includes going up and down many stories in car park. Dropped wife off at home to let dog out then carried on to other side of town to drop off daughter's friend and then back home again. Even windier and raining!

After Sunday's storm, the wind had eased to 'just' a 40mph headwind from the West - I could really feel it blowing us about going to work yesterday!, 3UP, 39°F, a lot more traffic than normal, one road closed on the approach to the city due to flooding caused a tailback.
    39.9 / 22.7 - much lower than a normal morning.

    Tank down 0.7 at 43.4 (FCD 45.7) / 200.5 / Range 410 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG down 0.5 at 46.6 / DTE 429

    Lost 1st pip (of 8) @ 135 miles

Quite the storm. Saw some interesting news about record transatlantic passenger flight times. Imagine going over 800 mph or arriving over an hour before scheduled.

I never go over 650 MPH , UNLESS the fcd shows 75 MPG or more.

    Today , 29 deg F in Naperville , 27 in wood Dale , and 34 in Toronto.
    35.1 miles , 58.7 MPG. Tank is at 238.5 miles , 351 remaining , 58.9 MPG.

And so the terrible weather and mileage continues

Going home, 3UP, major issues on normal route on second half of journey meant an unusual detour #3 followed by a single track road with passing places - horrendous!, 37°F, strong gusty winds, tail/crosswind WSW18:
    35.3 / 22.5

To work, motorway route, sleet 37°F, on my own as car pooler didn't get Range Rover back at the weekend (needed a part) so he's in a borrowed LPG powered Fiesta (aka shed)). Very strong headwind 47mph from West o_O.
Came off motorway and hit standing traffic at first junction!

Had to go up and down 3 junctions to avoid the worst of it, crawled past the 4th which was still closed before coming off at the 5th one (along with a load of other people!) and detouring the last part where there was an accident:

By the time I got to work, google was estimating over an hour just for this 8 mile stretch which normally takes about 20 minutes!

    38.9 / 21.9 :(

    Tank down a massive 1.4 at 42.0 (FCD 44.2) / 244.9 / Range 345 . Guess gauge F__««|««««E . UG down 1.4 at 45.2 / DTE 365

    Lost pip 2 (of 8) @ 205 miles

Same here, from last Thursday's deluge. Today on a bike ride we walked over what was left of a washed-out small bridge, of which nothing was left except 40% of the width of the pavement---with nothing but air under the asphalt. I walked gently.

I'm just back from 173 miles of biking historic Saint Augustine; 860 car miles/14.8 gallons round-trip.

Filtered sun this afternoon. But it was warm enough, that I rolled the windows down a bit, while stopped at the light....... & didn't have to roll them up, once I was at speed.... SWEET!!

We went to a concert at Fermilab Sunday afternoon. It was so warm in the car I had to roll the windows down for a minute.
That was the ONLY driving I did after arriving at Nijole's house Sat morning.
Low fuel light came on this morning on the way to work. I think I can make it to my Amoco in Naperville
after I work out. 31 deg F in Woodridge and Elk Grove this morning. Felt like a favorable wind , but
the wind comes from so many directions around here , so I never believe what weather.com or wunderground says.
    23.3 miles , 66.5 MPG. Tank is at 514.4 miles , 19 remaining , 56.6 MPG.

In the last decades, February has warm spells that offer a mid-Winter break..... from Winter. Such was not the case in the 1950's & '60's.
