With Forte and Optima sales down, it was the brands “North America Utility of the Year” Telluride that saved the day. The Telluride was picked up by 6,496 new customers in December and 58,604 for the entire year of 2019.

Like most OEMs, it all comes down to SUV sales and in VWs case, the Atlas performed admirably with Dec. 2019 sales of 7,400, up 10.2 percent over the 6,717 sold in Dec. of 2018. For all of 2019, 81,508 were sold, up 36.6 percent over the 59,677 sold through all of 2018.
