There was a head wind all the way in ( from Woodridge to Elk Grove it's pretty
much straight north ) but it didn't seem to hurt too much. 23.6 miles , 68.9 MPG.
Tank is at 564.2 miles , 76 remaining , 64.9 MPG. I should probably stop to get gas
    after my workout tonight.

Busy weekend, 9 driving segments that I won't report in detail.

    Filled up this morning.
    628 miles
    11.102 gallons
56.56 mpg, 2nd best this year.

Half the tank was summer solo driving, then things got busy with school back in session.

Then from filling to work I got 77.7 mpg / 2 miles.

Back in the '60's, we thought the world would end because Russia & the U.S. would nuke each other. Back then, if we all had died, we would've known the trademarks that killed us. Today, we won't know why we die. Will it be the N.Koreans lobbing some nukes at the U.S, the U.S. replying in kind, & the chinese communists (always small letters) getting in on the action, too? Or will India & Pakistan start pitching nukes at each other, involving the rest of the world? Will Iran, Israel & the U.S. engage in the worst kind of three-way? Will "put-it-in" & russia think they can survive a limited nuke war, while destroying the U.S. west & east coast? Or will we die by some unforeseen combinations of the previous? However, knowing why you die isn't better than not knowing why you die...... after you die...... unless Jesus is keeping count.

Anyone noting gasoline prices going up? I gassed up the last two days at low prices. So far, the places I gassed up at, are NOT showing price rises, but a few other gas stations have bumped up prices just a little bit.

Andrew , aren't you ( or wife ) using your giant Nissan school bus ? We haven't heard much about it recently.

Haha. Yes. She's in the bus today. I had it on Tuesday. I don't have a gauge in it so I have no numbers to report.

I did fill it up the other day after the first full tank of local driving. 12.5 mpg. It's bad. So I'm in the Fit as much as I can.

It has a good transmission that does what I need it to almost every moment. In the Honda I'm fighting the transmission programming every moment. Go on, shift already! Now I'm coasting, let go of the gear! I'm in and out of neutral every minute it seems. In the Nissan it just works. It drops into top gear at about 40 mph, landing at 1200 rpm. And holds it there. It's got the torque to stay where it is and not downshift every moment. So does the Honda, but the programming doesn't believe it.

My stations are trying to hold the line, but have gone up a cent or two. Other stations I have used previously, have jumped 30 or 40cents, but most of those jumps were before Saudi Arabia. The big problem has been our much elevated prices here, east of the Samish Sea(Puget Sound), for years.
