    jcp123 Caliente!

I’m somewhat lucky that I get to spend a nice portion of my summer in the Midwest, where temps stay kinda pleasant. I actually started not using a/c as a way to acclimatize after moving to Texas from a Mediterranean zone of California. I continued as it aided mpg, and here we are again, I use it as an aid to acclimatize since I spend so much time away.

Truck is remarkably consistent. I got lucky with weeks’ worth of light loads, and have had mostly heavy ones of late (40,000lb or more). Native FCD says 8.8mpg, company says 8.4, either way I’d say not too bad.

Maybe, maybe not. It’s the best I’ve got. Tends to have a really lumpy idle at first, it obviously loses a lot of learning. I’d classify my low miles as severe engine use, it can’t be happy with this...

    Today , 77 deg F in Naperville , 76 in Wood Dale. No wind ( again ).

We expect a high of 94 deg F today.

Well, that sucks. I’m headed to Chicagoland today...that is, if they ever actually get me loaded.

The service wasn't quite as damaging to my mpg as last time 2 years ago but they still used 0.8 GallsUS (0.666 imperial - beastly!)

They did 19.4 miles at 23.1mpg

Guess gauge was down to 1/2 tank but don't know when it lost 4th pip so I'll guess at 334 miles.

Last night was awful, 20 minutes to go less than 2 miles, standing traffic not far from work, did an about turn and went a different way, second half had to detour main road too, 64°F, tail/crosswind WNW4:
    38.6 / 21.6 - rubbish

    Tank down 3.0 at 44.0 (FCD 46.3) / 365.0 / Range 230 . Guess gauge F____|««««E . UG down 2.5 at 45.1 / DTE 245

Car pooler's turn again for the rest of this week.

Yesterday when I left work , it was 98 deg F on the Prius thermometer , which may actually be only 96.
No A/C use. Trip home with one 80 min stop at health club : 31.9 miles , 72.5 MPG.
    Today , 73 deg F in Naperville , 71 in Wood Dale. 35.1 miles , 65.7 MPG.
Tank has 537.2 miles ,two pips (126 miles) remaining , 66.1 MPG.
Still hopeful about not filling up until Sat AM , but I may go to a festival Friday night , which will add
a few miles AND mean an all-highway trip home.

    Tank sits at 56.1 / 562 mi.

Okay, what's up with Toronto, Edwin? I almost jokingly asked what the temp was in Toronto after your post yesterday where you did not mention Toronto. :)

Oh. I have a friend who lives there , so when I check wunderground for my local temps each morning , it's easy
to check Toronto , too. It doesn't seem to be much colder than Chicago , not sure of the diff in latitude.
And today , actually warmer , at least at 5:20 AM.

Thanks, Edwin. Curiosity satisfied. :) When I watched Canadian TV shows involving Toronto in the summertime, it always seemed to be hot there. (e.g. Flashpoint, various HGTV)

It was warm here today , but I did not drive at all. THAT was nice. I did ride the Trek about 15 miles.
I know I will need to drive about 26 miles tomorrow. Everything is far away when you live in a megalopolis.
I suppose there are people who can spend all their time in one town/city , work/play/live …… I've never had
    that option.

No driving yet today. Went to work out and have a bike ride this morning. 21.1 miles. Stopped at a number
of car dealerships. Very low inventory on all Toyota hybrids. Maybe that's typical for this time of year.
Also found a place called "Current Motors" , I think , in Naperville. This appears to be the place unwanted , unsold ,
or just-off-lease BEV's and hybrids go to die , I mean gather dust and dirt while people are all racing to buy their
    pickups ,SUV's, and crossovers. I saw five e-Golfs , some Model S , even a 2014 Audi A3 e-tron , a car I had almost
forgotten about. Also ,a bunch of JOL Fiat 500e's , a Leaf ,an i3 , 1st and 2nd generation Volt's ,a Bolt or two. They even
had a Soul EV , a car that I don't believe was ever sold by IL Kia dealers. Looking at their website now , I see that you
can get a 2016 e-Golf with <11K miles for $14K. Not so bad ! I think I have that much in my wallet , lol. But by law ,
you can't sell cars in IL on a Sunday , which is why I pick that day to cycle thru their lots.

I ended up not driving at all on Sat and Sun. And I liked that.
I rode the bike 15 miles Saturday and 33 miles Sunday.
    Today , 73 deg F in Naperville , 73 in Wood Dale , and 63 in Toronto.
35.1 miles , 66.1 MPG. Last pip started flashing at 627 miles.
Tank is at 636.4,66.6 MPG , 22 miles remaining. It's about 26 miles to my Amoco station.

You’re getting some miles in on the bike Edwin ;)
    Great numbers Andrew

I did a long ride for me yesterday, 80.4 miles. Tagged along with a group for 32 of them which helped!

On my own this morning, car pooler has to go early to sort out mother-in-law issues, 64°F, mostly headwind WNW 3:
    52.7 / 22.0

    Tank up 0.4 at 44.4 (FCD 46.7) / 387.0 / Range 220 . Guess gauge F____|««««E . UG up 0.3 at 45.4 / DTE 228

Car pooler's driving tomorrow to make up for day I drove last week.

Mother-in-law issues ? Does that involve digging a shallow grave ? I laugh , my own (ex) mother-in-law was very nice.
    I filled up on the way home last night.662.6 miles , fcd = 70.0 x .956 = 66.9 MPG.
662.6/9.822 gal = 67.5 MPG. Price was $3.099 for 87 E10 , even though our own beloved state's gasoline tax recently went up by $0.18.

Still too cheap. Today , 74 deg F in Naperville , 72 in Wood Dale , 68 in Toronto.
35.1 miles , 65.0 MPG. Tank is at...……….. well , when I got home from gas station last night , it was at 5.6 miles.
I thought I was resetting Trip B , the one I reset twice every day. Instead , I reset Trip A , so they read the same when I get to work.
I will add 5.6 miles to total when I fill next time.

    Fantastic ride , Gord !

I'm still thinking about one of those five e-Golfs. I can deal with the 82 mile range , but I don't think they
had the same fantastic post-DieselGate warranty in 2016 that they do today.

Gassed up on the way home.

57.5 mpg / 638 mi, 1 better than sg said. I adjusted it half the difference.

That's the first tank since last summer that's above my Fit's lifetime average. I had a great commute the first few years with it and then moved. My average has been going down for four years now, except one last summer and now.

    This morning 59.1 / 4.2 mi.

Last night, 1UP, detour #2 then detour on second half again, 72°F, tail/crosswind SW4:
    47.4 / 21.0

On my own again this morning, car pooler off work, 2UP, motorway route then unusual detour before main road into the City due to an accident but slower speed helped my numbers, 16°C, headwind W4:
    53.1 / 21.8

    Tank up 0.5 at 44.9 (FCD 47.2) / 429.8 / Range 180 . Guess gauge F____|_«««E . UG up 0.8 at 46.2 / DTE 196

    Lost pip 5 (of 8) @ 412 miles

Thanks Edwin, unfortunately his mother-in-law was due to come out of a hospice yesterday but has had a stroke.....
