Route to school and then work: 11 miles, 25 stoplight/signs.
Straight to work: 5 miles, 6 stops.

I could have incredible mileage without the school detour.

    I say...…….Let 'em walk ! I'm kidding , Andrew. Today , 12 deg F , no wind , clean roads.
Needed front defrost for the first several miles , even after I cleaned the frost off the windshield.
35.2 miles , 51.8 MPG. Tank is at 116.2 miles , 51.8 MPG. After work today , I go for my emissions test ,
the first time for this car. After that , it gets tested every 2-3 years ? It's a pretty quick and painless procedure , as I recall.
And from there , I take the scenic route home. :)

    Ha!

Home with a sick kid today. He was sick last night. I think he'll drive me crazy today, being annoyingly not-sick now.

Today , 29 deg F , tiny bit of fluffy snow on the windshield ; one flick of the wipers blew it away. Roads
were clean , but I had to get around the salt trucks who were anticipating freezing rain or something.
    35.1 miles , 51.24 MPG. A very good trip home last night (36.0 , 62.22)helped the tank :187.3 miles , 53.48 MPG.

I miss riding my bike. But I do hit the stationary bike pretty hard three times a week. Today , 7 deg F , wind ENE 8-16 ,
24.0 miles ( no highway ) , no heat was used. Engine did not shut off until about 12 miles, and even then , not predictable.
At 15.7 miles , I sat thru at least 90 seconds of red light with engine running. Grrrrrr. But I ended up with 51.15 MPG for the trip.
Tank is at 438.2 miles , 55.43 MPG . three pips remaining. Car will be getting its 8th oil change tonight , around 80,300 miles.

Had a highway drive to Dallas over the weekend. ~40F and drizzly. I had some time constraints and traffic was heavy.
P&G most of the way, min 50 mph and up to 80 as needed with traffic. (75 limit)
    45.7 / 132 there
    46.6 / 124 back

    Then 53.3 / 11.5 this morning.

Tank is down, 47 / 400 mi and 3/8 full.

    Filled up today. 478.3 miles , 8.616 gallons , Shell E10 is $2.439. fcd = 59.0 x 0.93 = 54.87 MPG.
If I can actually fill up at the same pump two tanks in a row , I will calculate MPG by dividing gallons into miles ,
    but for now , I just use the 0.93 multiplier. 15 degs F , 35.2 miles , 50.03 MPG.
