I can't bring myself to type it ( less than 50 ). Still snowing at 12:30 Central , but
hopefully it's all cleaned up by 3:30 when I leave work.

Yikes! That's like low 40s for normal Prius drivers.

Today , 10 deg F , headwind , but at least roads were clean and dry.
But this was weird : I had frost both outside and inside my windshield.
I had to hit the front defrost as soon as I put it in D. Fcd read only 41
after 8.2 miles when I got on the tollway. Yes , under certain conditions ,
highway driving can bring your trip back up to...….less-embarrassing.
    35.2 miles , 50.87 MPG. Tank is at 170.0 miles , 52.27 MPG.

Frost on the inside is a real hassle. Good job bringing it above 50.

I had sticky recurring frost. Had to stop and re-scrape at the end of the driveway as the frost was reforming. I hate idling to warm up just so I can see.
    47.4 / 5.3 - home
    46.2 / 11.5 - this morning

    Tank is down below 50: 49.4 / 111 mi.

Today , minus 6 deg F. I am house-sitting for the next ten days , so shorter ( no highway ) trip.
In the summer , it's a great commute ! Today , the engine shut off a few times. When totally stopped.
And climate control was off. But on a day like today DWL was the plan , and keeping the engine on
was just fine , thank you. 16.4 miles , 38.87 MPG. Could be worse. Tank is still above 50.

    Windchill temp is minus 17.

    -17? Oy!

Right at freezing here, meaning sticky frost. All week long.
45.2 / 3.7 - from work to school for an event
    52.6 / 7 - home
    48.3 / 11.5 - school and work this morning

Tank is at 50 even, 157 mi and just below F.

Been on a 27.5 mile bike ride this afternoon on new winter bike - it’s got wider tyres and full mudguards - tried a bit of cross country down trails and some muddy sections too - great fun!

Very nice ride, Gord ! Do the mudguards really keep bike and rider clean ?

Hi Edwin thanks, I really like it! I was totally clean and dry except for my feet (which were covered with overshoes luckily) and lower leg which were a bit mud splattered. Wheels and tyres were mucky but rest of bike wasn’t too bad.

Gord, do the Gatorskins give sufficient traction in the mud?

Most of the time Bill but I feel a couple of small slides on the worst sections but overall pretty good.

Today , minus 7 deg F , no wind. ! started my dog/house-sitting gig last night , which will go thru next Friday night.
So , I'm driving only 15.4-16.3 miles each way instead of 33-35 miles. I decided today to give my battery ( and myself)
a little heat , and it rewarded me with 40.83 MPG for 16.3 miles, even though it was colder today than my sub-40 trip
the other day. Next winter , I should be back in my garage , which will help immensely.

Today , 18 deg F , snowing. I had not driven since Sat night , and we got some good snow between
then and this morning. Some of it was plowed. Today , mostly not. I started out taking my usual non-highway route from Nicole's
( Illinois Rte 53 ) but eventually decided to get on I-88 and I-355 for safety's sake. I t was pretty difficult to know if
I was driving in the correct lane , or if I was about to smack a curb. The tollways were a bit better ; I could g0 30-40 MPH.
25.2 miles , 37.85 MPG. Tank is at 47.34 MPG.

Are we having fun yet ?

    Sounds rough Edwin

Sunday morning - another bike ride, 37°F - 45.2 miles

Sunday afternoon went to eldest daughter's 4UP in the Hyundai i10 to give it a run, 43°F:
    50.7 / 18.1
    52.9 / 18.1

My turn to drive this morning, in my car for the first time since 4th Jan, got a low battery warning even though I had charged it up about a week ago - started OK though, cold 34°F, head/crosswind NW7:
    44.4 / 22.8

    Tank down 0.3 at 45.3 (FCD 47.7) / 161.3 / Range 500 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG steady at 46.8 / DTE 471

    Lost 1st pip @ 140 miles

I've only done 156 miles in my car this year - back to normal now - snow forecast....
