Christmas break ? What the heck is that ? With a little luck , Mr. Scrooge will let us out by 6:00 PM on Christmas Eve , lol.

But back to work at 6:00 AM on the 26th. Good thing I have a vacation day scheduled on my birthday (27).

Happy birthday, Edwin! I'm sure it often gets lost in the Christmas season. My mother has the 26th and got / gets overlooked a lot.

45F and raining. That's the complete forecast for the next two days at least.

    44.8 / 3.6 - from work to school for a game.
48.7 / 7.1 - home, catching all the red lights

    50.9 / 10.9 - school and work this morning.

    Tank is down 0.2 to 51.3 / 520 mi.

My mother’s birthday is actually Christmas Day and she’s always said she never got 2 x presents - people used to get her something slightly bigger/more expensive and say “that’ll do for both”. She now opens her birthday presents on Christmas Eve :p

Happy birthday for the 27th Edwin.

My stop/start system works well after a couple of miles if it’s not too cold Edwin but sometimes it doesn’t work at all if it’s chilly so I have to resort to manual engine offs.....
When it’s really warm it works after about 500 yards :)

    Thanks , Andrew and Gord. Today , 23 deg F , dry , no wind. 35.2 miles , 55.06 MPG.

My passenger last night , Mary Beth , was very understanding about not trying to pull
heat from the engine until it was warmed up and we were away from any "gliding" area.
We were both dressed for being outdoors in 20 deg temp in Geneva.
Tank is at 141.6 miles , 53.66 MPG.

Going to a wake today for one of my co-workers. I'm doing what Michael Douglas did in
"The Kominsky Method" ; take a date to a funeral , lol. Maybe I just want to show her off
to my other co-workers. I told her there would be other Europeans there ( she's from Lithuania)
and that she would have chance to jabber in her own language. I didn't actually use the word "jabber".

Seems to me you're the one jabbering here, Edwin. ;) Seems you had a good time with her.

Sticky frost this morning. I just squeezed an even 50.0 to work.

Tank is 51.3 / 548 mi and the low fuel light just came on.

    Ha ha Andrew :D

Friday afternoon went to in-laws and walked into town for a few errands, 48°F, crosswind W14:
    44.8 / 3.4

Coming back wasn't great - rush hour, very busy and roads not conducive to great MPG - worked it hard - lots of short FAS’s, 45°F, crosswind W15:
    38.4 / 3.6

    Tank down 0.2 at 42.2 (FCD 44.5) / 145.0 / Range 475 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG up 0.3 at 44.5 / DTE 456

Didn't drive my car again this weekend, 3 bike rides (12.3, 15.2 & 34.6 miles) and a short trip to supermarket in daughter's Fiat 500 - filled it up - she managed 48.4 mpg over 349 miles

As it turned out , my date KNEW the deceased , he was a member of her church who , in the past , wanted
to make her his "girlfriend". She was not amused by him. Small world.

I did not record my numbers this morning , but they were pretty sad. About 15 deg F , and I let the engine
run a lot. I'm tired of being cold !

Today , 26 deg F , wunderground claims the wind in Wood Dale IL is ENE 11-16 MPH. I drive about 20 miles north and 15 miles east.
Nuff said. Wait , there's more. My new tires , that I had to air up after only six days , are now low again. I don't mean cleanmpg.com low ,
I mean the TPMS indicator came on. Seven days after I aired them up to 40. I'm not happy with Discount Tire and I intend to tear them a
new one after work today. 35.2 miles , 52.92 MPG. Tank is at 332.3 miles , 53.20 MPG.

Was that the pressure when you pressed the reset button under the dash? The indicator means the pressure has dropped by 25% in at least one tire since the button was pressed---at least as I understand.

    47.4 / 2.4 - from work to gas station
    60.3 / 3.4 - home
    47.5 / 11.7 - school and work this morning

    Fillup results:
    553 mi
    11.185 gal
49.4 mpg. First sub-50 for the season.

But at least the price was great. $1.91 / gallon!

I have a reset button ? I did not know that. I guess there's gold in that 600 page owner's manual. I need to check it out.
When I checked pressures around noon yesterday , they were ALL around 38-40 psi. I set the pump at Mariano's to 40 on Dec 3 ,
so that's pretty close. I will try the reset button , and if the indicator is still lit , I may have a bad sensor. Thanks , RedylC94.
I did not go to Discount Tire. If I need to , they will definitely feel my wrath. I will just keep a good eye on the pressure , and
maybe read my owner's manual , too. :)

Today , 35 deg F. 35.2 miles , 57.57 MPG. A good trip home yesterday (39.7 miles, 60.26MPG ) helped prop up this dismal tank.
    407.3 miles , 54.22 MPG.

I suggest downloading a soft copy of the manual so you can easily search for whatever interests you, rather than reading cover to cover or looking things up the old fashioned way via table of contents and index.

Yes, about 40 pages of gold, scattered randomly among 592 pages of redundant inananity.

"How to initialize the tire pressure warning system" is on page 455 of my 2011 owners manual, and easily found via the index.
