Nissan October 2018 Sales Down 10.6% With 109,962 Vehicles Sold + Altima

    [​IMG] Sales were off but the all-new 19 Altima will keep Nissan in the hunt for a large percentage of midsize sedan U.S. sales.

    2019 Nissan Altima - $24,6450 to start including the $895 D&H charge. With the std. 2.5L I4 in the S, SV and SL trims, an EPA rating of 28/39 mpg city/highway does not quite measure up to its main competitors latest. The SR and Platinum trims with the 2.5L offer a 27/37 mpg city/highway rating. The SR and Platinum with the all-new 2.0L VC Turbo offers owners a 25/34 mpg city/highway rating.

    Nissan announced it sold 109,962 vehicles in October, down 10.6 percent below the 123,012 sold during the same period, October of 2017. On a Daily Selling Rate basis, 26 selling days in October of 2018 vs 25 selling days in October of 2017, sales were off 14.0 percent.

    2018 YTD sales of 1,234,644 vehicles are off 6.4 percent below the 1,319,253 sold through the same period of 2017.

    Nissan Vehicle Highlights

    The only highlight is an all-electric favorite, the LEAF, which achieved sales of 1,234 vehicles, up a healthy 479 percent over the 213 sold in in October of 2017. YTD sales of 11,920 are up 8.8 percent over the 10,953 sold through the same period of 2017.

    2019 Nissan Altima

    The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima features a more vibrant all-new exterior and updated interior styling, a new platform and one all-new engine, and is now is available in AWD.

    Five trims are offered, S, SR, SV, SL and Platinum. All five come equipped with the standard 188 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque (up from 179 hp and 177 lb-ft) direct injected 2.5L I4 and are available with AWD.

    Standard features from the S trim on up include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, 8.0-inch color display with multi-touch control, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Rear Door Alert (RDA).

    In addition, the Altima SR and Platinum trims are available with an all-new 248 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque (on premium fuel) 2.0L VC-Turbo.

    The Altima will be the second Nissan to offer Nissan Safety Shield 360 – which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA).

    2019 Nissan Altima Design

    The 2019 Altima's design is longer, lower, and wider parked on top of available 19” alloys. Inside, an all-new interior features a wide "gliding wing" instrument panel.

    Inside new comfort and convenience features includes a standard 8-way power driver's seat with added bolstering for improved holding and support, to a selection of audio and infotainment choices, including a Bose Premium Audio system with nine speakers, and a new digital amplifier with eight channels.

    Replacing the previous-generation Altima's 3.5L V6 is the company's and world's first production-ready variable compression turbo I4 called the VC-Turbo. It delivers near V6 performance with close to I4 fuel efficiency. The VC-Turbo seamlessly changes its compression ratio between 8:1 (for high performance) and 14:1 (for high efficiency). The new engine is available on Altima SR and Platinum VC-Turbo FWD trims.

    The 2019 Altima also offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive for the first time ever on a Nissan sedan in the U.S.

    The range of safety and convenience features includes standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA) on all grades. Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) is standard on the Altima Platinum.
