Friday afternoon, went to Huddersfield for the weekend with OH - Christmas shopping, etc., 54°F, cross/tailwind SE5. Was going well until I got to the outskirts of the town and then it was crawling stop/start traffic for ages :(:
46.9 / 46.0 - to supermarket near the pub where we were staying, was well over 50mpg with 5 miles to go
    34.4 / 1.7 - to pub

Sunday morning went to a garden centre, 45°F, NNW4, very hilly:
    27.5 / 1.8
    53.2 / 44.9 - to supermarket near home, 50°F, cross/tailwind ENE6
    35.5 / 3.0 - very busy to home, 51°F

Even with the bad traffic round Huddersfield ended up with 48.1 (FCD 50.7) / 97.4mi for the trip

    Tank up 1.5 at 46.3 (FCD 48.8) / 190.5 / Range 470 . Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG down 1.0 at 46.2 / DTE 433

    Lost 1st pip @ 137 miles

My turn for the commute this week, Monday morning not so good - no detours but busy, 45°F, crosswind S12:
    44.4 / 22.6

    Tank down 0.1 at 46.2 (FCD 48.6) / 213.1 / Range 440. Guess gauge F_«««|««««E . UG down 0.1 at 46.1 / DTE 410

Today , 29 deg F , and the flag on Brummel St tells me the wind coming from NNW. 35.1 miles ,57.94 MPG.

    Filled up this morning for $2.369. 520.7 miles , 9.062 gallons. Fcd = 62.1 x .93 = 57.75 MPG.

I think I will order some all-season LRR tires from Tire Rack this week. I drive too many miles between
Dec 1 and March 15 , I would wear out snow tires too fast. After I retire or move closer to work , I would
    like some dedicated snow tires.

    40.7 / 23.1

To work this morning, bit better, detoured traffic light section, 41°F, cross/tailwind 8NNE:

Detour #8 again last night, bit more queueing before motorway stretch, cold 39°F, cross/headwind 6NNE:
    40.7 / 23.1

To work this morning, raining, busier but no detours, colder 37°F, tail/crosswind 5ENE:
    45.3 / 22.6

    Tank down 0.4 at 45.2 (FCD 47.6) / 304.9 / Range 320 . Guess gauge F___«|««««E . UG down 0.3 at 45.7 / DTE 312

Detour #8 yet again last night, colder 37°F, headwind 6E. Had to detour the last stretch due to roadworks causing a 2 mile long queue:
    40.7 / 24.1 - third day in a row with a calculated 40.7! - consistent.

To work this morning, after a sub 30°F night, temperature ranged from 33 to 35°F, crosswind 4N:
    47.2 / 22.6

    Tank down 0.3 at 44.9 (FCD 47.3) / 351.8 / Range 260 . Guess gauge F____|««««E . UG down 0.4 at 45.3 / DTE 260

Gord, just how many detours can you possibly take ? We don't HAVE that many roads , or at least roads that go somewhere.

    Today , 35 deg F , seems to be a slight tail wind , 35.1 miles , 59.98 MPG. Tank is at 195.4 miles , 59.89 MPG.

I think we now have 9 main ways to go home Edwin, that is the preferred motorway route which tends to be only achievable on a Friday lunchtime and 8 other possible detours. There are other smaller detours we can use as well depending how bad the traffic is!

The current favorite detour #8 Thursday night, 38°F, headwind 6E, very slow, worst one of the week - disappointing calculated sub 40mpg:
    39.5 / 23.2

To work Friday morning, 39°F, tail/crosswind 5ENE, detoured traffic light section, not too bad:
    47.1 / 23.0

Going home Friday lunchtime, motorway route then Google traffic informed us there was a big queue leading to the new roadworks near home so an unusual detour but not busy so not too bad, 40°F, head/crosswind 7NE:
    44.9 / 23.8

    Tank down 0.2 at 44.7 (FCD 47.0) / 421.8 / Range 180 . Guess gauge F____|_«««E . UG down 0.1 at 45.2 / DTE 189

    Lost 5th pip @ 413 miles

Drove daughter's Fiat 500 Sunday morning to a garden centre to get a small Christmas tree for my mother, 3UP:
    50.3 / 21.2 round trip

    Car pooler's turn this week....

Today , snow , 27 deg F. I left home later , hoping roads ( and our parking lot at work ) would be cleared.
They weren't. Today , I tried to keep the engine ON as much as possible. 15.4 miles , 38.78 MPG.
Tank is at 382.2 miles , 57.38 MPG

I'm back from a trip to visit family. ~25 mpg for 400 miles in the Odyssey with no particular concern about mileage.

Then 52.3 / 11.5 to school and work, 33F this morning.

Tank sits at 50.8 / 305 mi, just above 1/2 full.

Today , 21 deg F , no wind. Roads are mostly clean , but snow remains packed and frozen in my wheelwells ,
hampering my glides. Tires are at 35 psi ? Who knows , it's too cold to check. I will check them at lunchtime ,
when the sun is (maybe) up. New tires go on tonight at 5:00.
    35.1 miles , 54.03 MPG. Tank is at three pips , 451.5 miles , 56.64 MPG.

My tires were at ~36 last week when I checked on a frosty morning. I only had a little time so I took the fronts up to 50.

    48.2 / 5.6 - home last night
49.9 / 11.5 this morning. I even looped around the parking lot to use up all my momentum. Sticky frost that required scraping twice.

Tank is down a tick to 50.7 / 322 and barely above 1/2.

I will ask Discount Tire to air up my new Hankooks to 42 psi tonight. I don't think
full sidewall (51) would be that great for snow. Next April , up to 51.

Today , 20 deg F , no wind. Hankooks are very sticky , which is both bad and good. After waiting inside the place for 25 min before
talking to them , I totally forgot to specify the pressure I wanted , and of course , they don't ask. They inflated them to 35/33.
    Today , 35.1 miles , 52.45 MPG. Filled up for $2.179 this morning , 490.7 miles , 8.635 gal , fcd = 60.3 x 0.93 = 56.08 MPG.
    It is what it is.

It warmed up to 60 here, then down to 37 overnight. Good mpg to match.

    57.2 / 5.3 - home
    52.5 / 11.5 - to school and work

The tank is right on 1/2, 50.9 mpg / 342 mi.

On my own this morning, car sharer not in work - his Mother-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer, 44°F, head/crosswind SW11:
    51.8 / 21.5 - much better

Going home at lunchtime, roadworks meant an unusual detour to avoid a big queue, 52°F, tail/crosswind SSE16:
    50.9 / 22.8
