When I looked outside this morning , there was an inch (2.5 cm ) of snow on my car. 32 deg F , light snow falling
all the way in. No accumulation on the roads. It was pretty much like driving on a cold rainy day , on marshmallow tires (35 psi ).
In other words , not so good. 35.1 miles , 56.36 MPG. Last pip started to flash at 586 miles. Fcd said 25 miles left
when I got to work. It's around 30 miles to my Shell , so...........no problem.
Tank is at 591.2 miles , 62.87 MPG.

Wet roads going home, 55F. 46.8 mpg
Mostly dry this morning, 45F. 52.1 mpg

    Dropping down near freezing tonight.

Filled up on the way home yesterday. I went 16 miles after the fcd said 0 miles left.
    Fuel was almost for free ($2.379 for the usual E10 87 ). 622.5 miles , 9.843 gallons ,
    fcd = 67.1.
    0.93 x 67.1 = 62.40 MPG
    622.5/9.843 = 63.24 MPG

Soon , a 62 MPG tank will be a fond memory. Not to mention a 75-76 tank.
This morning , 20 deg F , wind appears to be from the east ,
could barely maintain 155 F coolant temp for the eight miles before I get on I-88.
At least I got to see the fcd go UP while on the highway for 23 miles. Ended up with
35.1 miles , 55.24 MPG. Very little driving this weekend , but some short trips.

  4. Really hoping to wait until next weekend to put the snow tires on the truck. (Work meeting in Indy this week) Thursday everyone was crying about 1-3 inches of snow coming Friday so I put them on. We ended up with a dusting.
We have Verizon Hum on the kids Saturn. It sent me a text alert Saturday morning that the battery was under 12v. 3 year old Walmart battery was in the car when we bought it. Probably wouldn't make it thru the winter.

As much as I don't like winter, what did I do this year? Moved an hour farther north. Sometimes I wonder about myself.

Accidentally reset my Trip B on the way in this morning. It would not have been a nice number anyway , I needed to run front defrost , which
means the engine stays on much longer. Tank is not good , either , but it can only go up from here.
Tank is at 76.0 miles , 56.08 MPG.

It's below freezing here and expecting 5-8" snow tonight. I'll be shoveling to make sure we have an easy getaway tomorrow morning.

It feels like we went from autumn 40s-50s straight into winter.

5pm edit: slight downgrade in the storm totals to 3-5 inches of snow... yay.

Sunday I drove into Naperville to have lunch with Nicole. Round-trip was 13.9 miles with a two hour stop ,
    and about 50 MPG.
    Today , 23 deg F , 35.1 miles , 57.10 MPG. Tank has two pips remaining , 482.9 miles , 57.66 MPG.
Most likely I will fill up Tuesday morning on the way to work. When I passed my Shell this morning ,
the price was a disgustingly low $2.199. And you can tell it's cheap by the speed that the F-150's fly past me.
