Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has dropped 0.6¢ since last week to $2.859 - this time last year it was only $2.353 so it's 21.5% (+50.6¢) dearer.
Diesel is down 0.2¢ at $3.151. It's 24.7% (+62.4¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at a 10.2% premium to regular.
    E85 is up 0.7¢ to $2.424 - a year ago it was $2.024 so it's 19.8% dearer.

Today , 70 deg F , wind ENE 2-4. The slight headwind didn't seem to
bother the Prius so much. 15.4 miles , 82.49 MPG.
Tank is at 122.2 miles , 77.75 MPG.

    Today , 72 deg F , wind NE 1. 35.1 miles ( from my house in Aurora to work ) , 69.84 MPG.

Left my notebook in the car , so I don't have the tank data handy , but it took a hit this morning.
Probably at about 76 MPG right now. I will be staying at my house in Aurora more often now , maybe two
nights a week. MPG will suffer. Going to Lombard tonight , which could/should be a 75 MPG trip.

I'm guessing MAss is middle-of-the-road with gas prices. $2.72 nearby at the Speedway. Fairly steady pricing except for holiday spikes.

Today , 68 deg F , wind ENE 2-3. Roads were wet and sticky from last night's rain.
    15.4 miles , 81.28 MPG. Tank is at 273.7 miles , 77.1 MPG.
I have a date after work tonight , so ...... fuel economy may suffer a bit.
But I don't have to go to the city , going to Geneva instead. Afterwards ,
I can hypermile all the way home , until the police pull me over. I usually try not to call
too much attention to my driving on weekend evenings. But it's really hard to NOT pulse and glide.

I barely eked out a PR in the Civic, 49.58 on the last tank, beating my previous record of 49.54. Since that's within the margin of error, I'll just call the two a tie :)

Also, I just got home from vacation at Florida's Emerald Coast. Wife drove down from Western NY, where she spent the summer with family, picked me up in Atlanta, where I flew in, then spent 4 days driving around that area, then home via New Orleans, and Jackson, MS (she has more family there). The FCD in her van read 25.1 upon hitting our driveway. Not bad considering she tends to drive PSL +3, a/c running, and the traffic along US 98 down in Florida.

Haven't driven my car much recently - car pooling saves me about 4,000 miles a year.

Yesterday, went to mother's house for a couple of hours then on to drop off youngest's friend, 4UP, 71°F, crosswind W10:

    44.6 / 4.4
    56.9 / 13.3
    45.2 / 16.5 - Return, 3UP

Had an hour spare last night so went for a 21.1 mile bike ride @ avg 19.6mph

    Tank steady at 47.8 (FCD 50.4) / 530.2 / Range 95 . Guess gauge F____|__««E . UG steady at 45.9 / DTE 89

Lost sixth pip @ 511 miles

Sunday I drove only 7 miles to take Kelly to lunch after 70 min of Frisbee. The old girl has some pretty good endurance.
I rode the trek 21 miles earlier in the morning.

Summer has been good to me and "C" so far. Pushing close to 60MPG average per tank. Had a couple of 30 mile work commutes in the low 80"s,
