    Welcome back to the grind

The national average gas price has dropped back 2.6¢ since last week to $2.895 - this time last year it was only $2.296 so it's 26.1% (+59.9¢) dearer.
Diesel is down 1.3¢ at $3.186. It's 28.7% (+71¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at an increasing 10.1% premium to regular.
E85 is down a touch to $2.443 - a year ago it was below $2 at $1.998 so 22.3% dearer.

    Thanks , Gord. :) Today , 63 deg F , wind W 2-6. Roads were wet and sticky.
Other cars didn't do what they were supposed to do today , and that threw my game
off a little. Can you imagine a Chevy Suburban accelerating more slowly than ME ?
I probably should have accepted an early glide instead of overtaking him.
    15.4 miles , 74.68 MPG. Tank is at 142.0 miles , 70.77 MPG.

Edwin, it's a strange feeling to be the fast one on the road.

    52.6 / 5.3 - home, 88F
    66.2 / 5.3 - work, 75F

Tank is up a tick to 54.6 / 438 mi.

Well. That ended up as a terrible trip home. Headwinds plus quite unexpected traffic...ended up with only a 43.2 :/

Helped me when my Pa and I went paper hunting today, wind was at our backs. Around a 2" group at 300yds on both a gun and a caliber I had never shot before :D

He's doing quite well with his '16 Corolla S/CVT. Although he's not a hypermiler, he introduced me to the bare basics such as slower acceleration and moderating speeds. He's a bit over 34mpg lifetime. I often forget about his car, but it's a thloughly decent little runabout. The CVT doesn't really feel like a CVT! Though, I don't quite get why it has paddle shifters...

For those who feel they don't have enough control otherwise. :) Better that than the other extreme of those Tesla drivers with the "Autopilot Buddy" defeat device. Grrr!

    Steadily upward! Nice!

With such a poor start to this tank , UP is easy ! I don't have any "mandatory" highway work
in the near future , so maybe this tank could be close to stellar. Hopefully , my commitment
    and patience will hold out.
I was never a fan of the CVT until I got this car. But I like it now !
I do miss , just a tiny bit , the sound/feel of the revs rising and falling as upshifts happen.

52.3 / 5.3 - home last night. The gusty wind was at my rear quarter so I think it's roughly a wash.
    61.6 / 5.4 this morning to work

Tank is up another tick to 54.7 / 449 mi.

You can get an app for that. You can even pick the engine - F1 race car, V8 muscle car, Harley, etc :p

I thought I read somewhere that some high performance electric cars come with fake engine sounds. I could have imagined it...

This one was fully intentional. Mostly, I let my glides run out longer.
