Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has climbed 5.6¢ since last week to $2.927 - this time last year it was only $2.355 so it's 24.3% (+57.2¢) dearer.
Diesel is up 5.2¢ at $3.184. It's 27.3% (+68.3¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at a 8.8% premium to regular.
E85 is also up to $2.445 - a year ago it was $2.065 so 18.4% dearer.

    _______________

Not my turn for the commute this week, car pooling , 2 week vacation approaching :)

    Today , 50 deg F , wind NE 5-6. 15.4 miles , 73.47 MPG.

Tank is at 606.0 miles , 71.98 MPG.

I missed a great glide op this morning. Right at the top of
    a long gentle hill (20-45 pulse ) , I got stopped by a traffic
signal that almost NEVER changes at this hour of the AM.
So , I missed out completely on a 45-20 glide.

Worse yet , I had to use the brakes. Ouch.

Everyone's respective tanks are doing great. Keep it up!

Glad to hear all are well at home, Andrew.

Edit: How's the bee keeping going?...

Bees are doing very well! Had to stack a 2nd box on the smaller hive this weekend. And start building more boxes because the big hive is close to outgrowing their two-high set.

A bee suit is HOT in the Texas summer.

Wow, those bees must be happy to grow the hive. Excellent!

Hot suit, I can imagine! And you have humid, too, right? I'd need an astronaut's air-conditioned suit. :)

I just looked in my ( imperfect ) records and saw a tank from June 2017 that was
732 miles and a calculated 72.0 MPG. Since I can't always fill up at the same station/same pump ,
and it will definitely be a new station today , I'd rather go with the fcd *.93 = actual MPG.
So , maybe no record tank , but darned close.
We'll find out around 4:00 today.

Filled up yesterday in Bridgeview ( Cook County). E10 87 corn-squeezin's was $3.399/gallon at the Shell at 95th St and Roberts Rd. I felt like the pump clicked off too early , so I gave it another shot.
    729.6 miles , 10.058 gallons. FCD = 77.5 x .93 = 72.07 MPG. Maybe no personal record , but not so bad.
Had a NICE trip home from there (80+starting with warm engine) and even better this morning.
    66 deg F , wind SE1-3. 15.4 miles , 83.79 MPG. Tank is at 34.1 miles , 82.02 MPG.

    65.9 / 5.3 - work this morning. See?!!

    Tank is 55.0 / 204 mi.
