Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price has climbed 5.3¢ since last week to $2.714 - this time last year it was $2.406 so it's 12.8% (+30.8¢) dearer.
Diesel is now over $3, up 3.5¢ at $3.009. It's 18.7% (+47.5¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at a reducing 10.9% premium to regular.
E85 is up to $2.259 - a year ago it was $2.090 so 8.1% dearer.

Thanks for starting us up , Gord.
Today , 26 deg F , wind NW9 , light rain and snow freezing on windshield , which caused me to use heat/defrost. Not the best luck with traffic signals , and my focus was a little bit limp. Enough disclaimers , here's the sad result : 15.5 miles , 55.24 MPG.
Tank is at 553.5 miles , 60.91 MPG. Two pips remain.

We're receiving the tail end of the winter storm that hit the Central/MidWest region. No plows were out so rutted roads with slushy snow. Lawns are covered in snow. My snow pile finally vanished a few days ago. There was freezing rain yesterday while my wife and I were out doing real estate business in the north central Massachusetts area close to the New Hampshire border. Elevations over 1000'. The Bolt did okay keeping the ice off most of the windshield. I'm sure the resistive heat dipped deeply into the energy bucket.

I used the flexibility I'm allowed to work from home today. :) It should reach 50 degrees F by late afternoon though.

    Edit: 3:39pm - temperature hasn't exceeded 38 deg F yet...

Busy weekend ferrying kids around. 14 driving segments since Friday, most 5 miles or less.

51 mpg / 11.4 mi to school and work this frosty (in April!) morning

Tank is down a few tenths to 51.8 / 454 mi.

    :)

The snow didn't come off the solar panels naturally, so I had to go out again with my plastic roof rake. This is the final, final time this season. :)

    You hope so , Bill.
Today , I filled up for the first time in what , 3 weeks ? I don't think I even recorded the last fill in my book. Maybe I did here, though.
Today , 28 deg F , wind N4 ( slight head wind). I was lucky enough to find one Top Tier station that was still selling E10 87 for $2.799. All the others are up to $2.999. Is Mobil Top Tier ? I thought so , but wasn't sure.
15.6 miles , 62.87 MPG. Fill-up was 581.1 miles , 9.268 gal = 62.7 MPG. Multiplying the fcd by 0.93 gives me 65.3 *.93 = 60.73 MPG , which is probably more accurate. The last fill before this might have been the pump that shut off early , and I had to squeeze it a few more times , thus skewing the truth on the next fill ( today).

The much shorter trips on my new commute don't help , but the fact that
there is no highway helps. MPG still sucks until coolant temp hits 154 F.

But the big picture is that you're using less gas. (weeks between fills) :)

Crazy, isn't it? Mother nature's going haywire because of us humans. All we need now is for that magnetic pole to flip. That should cause all kinds of cosmic radiation pattern changes.

Some of you guys are getting some cold temperatures! We’ve got a mini heatwave coming to the UK (not to Andrew’s standards of course) but maybe mid 70’s :)

    43.8 / 22.4

I heard a rumour about "spring" coming. Then I scraped the frost off
my windshield this morning. I must have dozed off and missed spring , summer , and fall.

Last night, 2UP, motorway route, no wind!, warm 74°F:
    42.9 / 22.5

This morning, 2UP, still got over 50 on FCD but thought I was on for a calculated 50+ until I got to traffic light section - way too many stop/starts , 4mph cross/headwind SSW, 52°F:
    48.8 (FCD 51.5) / 22.5

    Tank steady at 45.7 (FCD 48.1) / 522.2 / Range 85 . Guess gauge F____|__««E . UG up 0.1 at 45.6 / DTE 94

    Lost 5th pip @ 498 miles

Going to be another warm one today - hottest April temp for 70 years apparently. 84°F in London :p

    Today , 35 deg F wind N2. No frost ! In the first 4.2 miles , I was able to get a 0.8 mile and a 0.6 mile glide.
This certainly doesn't help get my coolant temp up where it should be , but an uphill acceleration to 45 MPH
takes care of THAT. 15.4 miles , 69.66 MPG. Tank is at 106.0 miles , 62.59 MPG.
