Welcome back to the grind :D

The national average gas price is up a touch (+0.2¢) since last week to $2.661 - this time last year it was $2.387 so it's 11.5% (+27.4¢) dearer.
Diesel is also up marginally to $2.974 (+0.6¢). It's now 18% (+45.3¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at an 11.8% premium to regular.
E85's average price is up to $2.222 - a year ago it was $2.104 so 5.6% dearer.

Today , 26 deg F , wind W4. Roads are clean , but I had to scrape off some very hard frost on my windows. Then , during the 15 or so
seconds after I get in the car that it takes me to get it going , it frosted up on the inside. Thanks , Mother Nature. So I had to run the electric defrost.
Still , it was not so bad : 15.4 miles , 60.54 MPG. tank is at 388.9 miles , 59.8 MPG.

Ahh, much better! 47.04. For being mostly freeway, I'll take those numbers all day, every day.

Gord, it sounds like your oldest and my youngest share the same birthday 4/4. She had a birthday party on Saturday with girls and I took the boy and fled the house.

Many trips: to cinema, snow cone place then home

    Today , 40 deg F (yes!) , wind SSW13(yes!)
    . 15.4 miles , 74.68 MPG.
Tank is at 428.4 miles , 59.98 MPG. On this route , I should do better in the mornings ,
when there are more glide ops. Also , if I make one or two short stops on the way home
in the afternoon , it destroys that trip. But I still need to work out 3 times a week.
I will probably stay at my own house in Aurora a few days a week , then the old 35 mile( mostly highway) route will be taken. Not so good , but I have done 70 MPG on that leg in the summer months.

Same here, Jason. But I think she's more like 12 going on 17 some days. every day.

Out at lunch to a used tractor lot. Everything they have is too small or too big, but they say the inventory changes weekly and daily.
    65.3 / 8 out
    61.4 / 8.2 back

Tank is up nicely to 51.6 / 318 mi.

Oh, my eldest daughter. 7 going on 17. She's a genuine sweetheart most of the time, but a teenager when there's a disagreement.

Home to work, fairly humble 45mpg. I had time before I picked up my load, so I went out to pick up the inevitable sundries I forgot at home, then just drive for the sake of driving. I'm sorry I didn't record the numbers, but it was all deep 50s and into the 60s with one segment into the seventies. ~40 miles upped me from 45.1 to 48.0.

It's a nice, mild spring day in Texas, in the 70s but with a definite South wind, 10 gusting to 20 or 25. It's humid but mild and windy enough to not really notice. Windows down and arm out the window!

If I'm being honest, I'd rather have fired up my grill for some lunch than come to work and driven some excellent FE numbers.

It was a nice day for a bike ride after work. I did 9.94 miles in 45 min.
Today , 54 deg F , wind SW9. Roads were wet from last night's rain , but it's easy to steer around the puddles. 15.4 miles , 75.98 MPG. Tank is at 459.2 miles , 60.64 MPG. Last night going straight home I could only do about 68 MPG for the same trip(more traffic, fewer glide ops). Not really sure if there is any net elevation change , but I can easily check that later.
No bike ride tonight , I work out at the health club. I will do a stationary bike ride, but it's not the same.

Temps ARE nice in Texas right now, and the pollen is mostly done so I can actually breathe.

    55.6 / 5.3 - home
    55.7 / 11.5 - school and work

Tank is up a tick to 51.8 /. 335 mi.

Despite a heavy load, I managed 8.1mpg on my first full day back to work. Tomorrow, I'm empty for 112 miles then a couple hundred more with a medium-heavy load in Oklahoma. How I do will depend on the wind...

The round trip for Thursday was 30.8 miles , 74.17 MPG.
    Today , 40 deg F , wind NE7 ( headwind ) , 15.4 miles , 67.05 MPG.

One of these days I will need to refuel.
