Welcome back to the grind :D

Post your exploits here (will update gas stats later!)

    OK so here goes:

The national average gas price is up 4.8¢ since last week to $2.659 - this time last year it was $2.324 so it's 14.4% (+33.5¢) dearer.
Diesel is up 2.7¢ to $2.968. It's now 18.4% (+46.2¢) more expensive than this time last year. Diesel is at a reducing 11.6% premium to regular.
E85's average price is up to $2.236 - a year ago it was $2.045 so 9.3% dearer.

55.6 / 5.4 - straight to work this morning, kids have the day off

    Tank 48.9 / 43 mi.

Saw a nasty wreck. My 4-lane street has a 2-lane crossing it. We go right on through, they have stop signs. Car on the small street didn't fully check for clear traffic, had a strong corner-to-corner crash. One car ended up on its roof.

Note to self: Take your time, make sure it's safe.

I think I can start posting regularly again. My numbers won't shatter any Guinness records , I promise.
    Today , 22 deg F , wind WNW 4. 15.4 miles , 55.89 MPG. Tank is at 127.6 miles , 61.94 MPG.
I also need to make a note to self - " When going thru a green light , check for emergency vehicles".

Today 15.4 miles , 64.45 MPG. Tank is at 158.5 miles , 61.84 MPG. I haven't been driving on the weekends , so
a tank of gas might last a LONG time. Compared to my old 500 mile/week commute.

Took the car to the car wash this evening.
46.5 - 7 mi. round trip, 15*f. Too cold to wash it but I'm lending it to my son for a while and wanted to clean it up some and melt some of the ice off. Removed the insulation and some of my add on's that he won't want.

After nursing that tank for 8 months, you may have lost a bit to evaporation.

Filled up early tonight because my son will be taking the car this weekend. Filled up at a station I never go to because it was the only one that hadn't raised their prices today. Consequently, may not have filled quite full. Mileage was better than expected, especially with the exceptionally cold winter we've had (still having).

    Tank: 48.37 - 411.7 mi.

Today , 36 deg F , wind WNW13. Had ice on my windshield from last night , I didn't scrape it off because
I thought one flick of the wipers would remove it. Wrong ! I ended up using front defrost and heat.
Had more bad luck with traffic signals , causing a lot of lost momentum. End result was 15.4 miles , 60.08 MPG .
Tank is at 294.4 miles , 60.36 MPG.
