    This is what Pulse and Glide looks like in the real world. :)

    I believe this is RT 17 in SC maybe???

    The Piedmont (the part of the Carolinas between the mountains and the coastal plain) is ideal for pulse and glide. The coastal plain is too flat and in the mountains the down hills are often too steep/long/curvy so you have to waste energy through the brakes to keep the speed from getting excessive. But on the few flat stretches in the mountains, the thinner air gives you better mileage.
