Wayne Gerdes – CleanMPG – April 1, 2016 Audi March 2016 Sales Overview In March, Audi sold 18,392 vehicles, up 7.5 percent over the 17,102 vehicles sold in March of 2015. On a daily selling rate basis, sales were down 0.4 percent. This was not only the 63rd consecutive U.S. monthly sales record , it was the brands fifth best sales month ever. Year to date sales of 41,960 vehicles is up 4.6 percent over the 40,098 vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. Audi March 2016 Sales Highlights This month’s highlights include the all-new A4, Q3 and all-new Q7. The A4 was picked up by 3,226 new owners, up 42.4 percent over the 2,266 sold in March of 2015. Year to dates sales of 6,378 is up 14.5 percent over the 5,572 sold through the same period of 2015. Q3 sales reached a record 1,505 in March, up 18.7 percent over the 1,268 sold in March of 2015. Year to date sales of 3,395 vehicles was up 6.5 percent over the same period of 2015. The all-new Q7 had a great month with 3,004 vehicles sold, up 92.6 percent over the 1,560 sold in March of 2015. Year to date sales of 6,993 is up an even larger 102.6 percent over the 3,452 sold through the same period of 2015. Audi Q7 In March both Ford and Nissan picked up significant market share. On a volume basis, March sales of 1.59 million vehicles was up 3.2 percent over March of 2015s 1.54 million vehicles sold result. YTD sales of 4.05 million is up 2.5 percent over the 3.95 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. Light trucks continued to dominate the industry with the sales mix of 58 percent. The industry achieved US sales of around 1.59 million vehicles in March, the best March in in over a decade. YTD SAAR is 17.4 million, the best first quarter start since 2001.
