    Audi March 2016 Sales Overview

    In March, Audi sold 18,392 vehicles, up 7.5 percent over the 17,102 vehicles sold in March of 2015. On a daily selling rate basis, sales were down 0.4 percent. This was not only the 63rd consecutive U.S. monthly sales record , it was the brands fifth best sales month ever.

    Year to date sales of 41,960 vehicles is up 4.6 percent over the 40,098 vehicles sold through the same period of 2015.

    This month’s highlights include the all-new A4, Q3 and all-new Q7.

    The A4 was picked up by 3,226 new owners, up 42.4 percent over the 2,266 sold in March of 2015. Year to dates sales of 6,378 is up 14.5 percent over the 5,572 sold through the same period of 2015.

    Q3 sales reached a record 1,505 in March, up 18.7 percent over the 1,268 sold in March of 2015. Year to date sales of 3,395 vehicles was up 6.5 percent over the same period of 2015.

    The all-new Q7 had a great month with 3,004 vehicles sold, up 92.6 percent over the 1,560 sold in March of 2015. Year to date sales of 6,993 is up an even larger 102.6 percent over the 3,452 sold through the same period of 2015.

    In March both Ford and Nissan picked up significant market share. On a volume basis, March sales of 1.59 million vehicles was up 3.2 percent over March of 2015s 1.54 million vehicles sold result. YTD sales of 4.05 million is up 2.5 percent over the 3.95 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015.

    In March, Ford overtook GM by the slimmest of margins, Nissan continues to outpace Honda, Kia is cementing its sales lock over Subaru and BMW overtook Mercedes-Benz.

    Light trucks continued to dominate the industry with the sales mix of 58 percent.

    The industry achieved US sales of around 1.59 million vehicles in March, the best March in in over a decade. YTD SAAR is 17.4 million, the best first quarter start since 2001.

    AUDI Achieves its Strongest Global Q1 in Company history with over 450,000 Vehicles Sold

    March as best month in the company’s history, with global sales of 186,100 vehicles worldwide, up 4.6 percent over the 177,956 sold during March of 2015.

    Year to date sales of 455,750 is up 4.0 percent over the 438,171 sold through gthe same period of 2015.

    Growth during the first three months was driven by strong demand in Europe and America. Audi has also seen increases in China since the beginning of the year.

    Worldwide deliveries of the all-new Audi A4 increased by 14.6 percent in March. In the United States, where the latest generation of the model has only been available in recent weeks, sales of the A4 increased by 36.3 percent during the month.

    The all-new Audi Q7 achieved double-digit growth each month since it was launched in the summer of 2015. Audi delivered ~ 9,600 Q7 to customers around the world in March, up 93.1 percent. Year to date, global deliveries have grown by 89 percent to around 23,550 vehicles. In the same period, the company even tripled sales of the Q7 model in Europe, up 177.6 percent to ~ 10,450 vehicles.

    Audi also posted further gains in the Americas in the first quarter. With ~ 57,500 deliveries in the region, the company saleas were up 5.6 percent vs the same period of 2015. Sales increased by 8.5 percent to 24,350 vehicles in March alone.

    In Canada, Audi sold 2,805 vehicles in March, up 42.9 percent.

    Following a year of consolidation in 2015, Audi is once again on track for growth in China. Cumulative sales in the market were up by 4.7 percent to 139,540 vehcles. Last month 50,986 cars were sold to customers in China, an increase of 5.4 percent. Audi saw gains in the compact class in particular: Market demand for the Audi A3 increased by 34.7 percent in March.
