    Hi Joesgot4:

Hyundai did not have a 6-speed MT at the short lead but I have made requests. Glad to see you are enjoying yours despite the short 1st gear.

I'll post some highway numbers Monday night, going to little rock,Ar to check on a job at a nuclear plant in Russellville AR about 800 total miles there and back . About 600 of the miles are board flat through the farmland in the delta

I haven't done that in my manual cars , but I remember my friend with a 1972 Beetle doing so. Those cars had a super-short first gear , only useful for off-road adventures in the Utah mountains. We did that , only limited by ground clearance.

I sometimes do that in my Fit. You've got more torque in your engine so it makes sense to me. Nice car!

Congrats on a great looking car! We have too many hills here to start off in 2nd unless I am going down hill. Hondas are not known for their torque.

The shift light comes on at 10 mph and 2300 rpm, I shift no later than 9mph

800 miles mostly flat roads and interstate with about 60 miles in town with stop lights but no turns. This was all 60mph steady state driving no techniques used but getting in to 6 gear fairly quick. And some letting car slow on steep hills

I believe slowing to 45mph on a good gas mileage challenge will get me 65mpg
This car was amazing on first trip for it and me driving, clutch is crazy to operate smoothly. I drove 370 miles on less than half a tank
